also check it wasn't plus line rental.

I called them yesterday - was told they could do a deal but they have a new system coming this week which allows for better discounts and control for long term customers and they're going to call me back with an offer on Monday...

...those getting TiVO has anyone managed to get it and installation for free yet?

Retentions rang my house at midday yesterday and they were going to call back after 4pm but I also missed that call. Will they try to call back or is there a number I can ring to get hold of someone ?

I just don't want to end up cancelling if they can negotiate a better deal.

    Was on XL TV, M BB ( I think 10 m connection?) CO, 1 X V+, 2 STANDARD V BOXES, M PHONE (free calls w/ends)...was paying around £59 a month.

Called to cancel-only offer was to downgrade package(!) so booked cancellation date.. Missed 3 retentions calls so called back on 150 'thinking of leaving us' extension. initially offered TIVO -one off charge £50 then £38-99....turned this down....same call guy offered one off £25 FEE....£36-99 a month inc line rental & to keep v+ box AND tivo (so one standard v box, 1 v+ box+tivo)-same tv package! So said yes to this as saving £240 a year AND new TIVO. Phone contract 18 months-tv/bb 12 months. quite happy with that....

Now I'm waiting for someone to say they got same for £29-99..... (!)

Hi..have been with Virgin for 5 years and my bills are just going up and up every month. Cheapest bill in past year is £74. I have M broadband, M phone, XL TV plus skysports package. I also have a mobile with them which is separate. All I get is the original £9-50 credit for taking out all 3 services back in 2006/7. After reading this thread, I just called them to see if I could get a better deal, and all they offered was to cap bill at £67-49 by restricting calls to mobiles. (My last phone bill part was only just over £5!!!) I asked if there was any loyalty discount, and was totally fobbed off, and to be honest, I felt like I was being treated like a rather silly child. I told him Sky would do same deal for £62 a month with a sky+ box, and £100 cashback through a cashback site, and he just said Sky mislead people. To be honest, I dont really understand all the technical stuff, so am unsure what exactly I should be asking for. I just feel my deal is pretty rubbish compared to a lot of other people, but im not sure how to proceed now..... can anyone advise me? Oh..and they say on the bill that I have an HD box..I dont..but he said i could have one for another £50! you have to be kidding! Im guessing theres no other option than to give notice.....

Take it - XL TV is normally £24.50 per month on its own, would be exceedingly unlikely anyone got what you are getting for less.

I cancelled last week as I couldnt afford it any more
    I had
    TV m
    Phone L
    BB L
    And V+ box for 34.99

Got a phone call yesterday from retentions, offered the exact same package for 17.99 a month. Is this a good deal? I have the guys phone number and name and he said to phone back with any questions, should I push for any upgrades?

    Thanks
