Virgin Media Retention thread

I have a TV plus Zee TV package, a 2Mb broadband and no telephone line. Rang the retention department about 4 months ago who reduced my bill to £27 per month. Also been told that if i purchase a wireless router from their website i can claim back the full amount regardless of cost.
I order a router and sent Virgin a copy of the receipt as instructed. When the next bill came it was for the full amount. I rang up the ret dept and was told there was a mistake and will apply on the next bill. Asking about my refund for the router they said they could not find my letter. I then emailed a copy to the person i was talking to.
Next bill came, the same amount and no refund. Rang ret dept. Bill will be correct for the next month and there is a note on the system that i am due for a refund but not for the full amount.
Next bill came and for the same amount, yet no refund.
Will give them another call this/next week to see what is happening. Had to use the 0845 number because the old 0800 number no longer works. Does anyone know of a free 0800 number to use for retention dept?
They are taking the mickey. If i can't suceed with the retention dept then who can i complain to?
Thanks in advance for the repliesProblem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problemsWell at least i learn something on the way

I have just renegotiated with retentions at Virgin
I was on 12 months from last September
Line Rental
TV Starter
Broadband L 4mb
Talk Eves Weekends
£17-50pcm
Now got
Phone Line Rental
TV Freeview - bought freeview pvr anyway as virgins rubbish imo
2 MB BB (should upgrade to 4 MB at some point)
Talk Unlimited Phone
£20 and no tie ins
Fairly happy with that tbh - may get a BT line and go Talk Talk and test it out before leaving virgin0 -
Currently these are my services -
Virgin
£18/month for 'M' broadband
£7.50/month for telephone
(no TV)
O2
£27/month for Discount 500 (500 mins/500 text/2Mb data)
So basically what can I beat Virgin down to if I consolidate broadband/land line/mobile into one of their 'packages'?
Ideal for me would be about £30 all in, keeping same # of minutes and data, plus a Nokia N73 for free was 'welcome' to Virgin!0 -
They do a 3 for £30, and afaik this applies to what you want.ac's lovechild0

I've been with NTL/VM for over 5 years now. I've got Phone XL and Broadband XL. I use to pay about £32 (after complaining) but now they have raised it to about £50. I therefore complained and got a further £9 off.
Is a better deal possible from VM?
If you find this useful then “Thanks” always appreciated.
If you think others may benefit from this then please Bump the thread up.0 -

just rang up now and asked i want to leave.
was put in touch to the relevant department and was asked why.
I needed my internet conection moved to a diffrent part of the house and they said that since i have XL BB, XL Phone, i could also get XL TV for £53 but would have to pay £75 instalation fee to move the modem and £25 for TV instal.
I said that was to much and they droped the TV fee and said £25 for BB fee which was ok.
rang up later and said that i was wanting to know whats happning with instalation as they were supose to ring me back and they didnt, they droped the BB fee aswell as a good will thing.
Is my deal ok guys or should i hasle more??0 -
