Virgin Media Retention thread

Just been on the phone to Virgin Media (NTL) re a query with my billing. I asked about the developments of speed enhancement. They told me that from May, 10mb customers will go to 20mb for an extra £2 a month. It will start in May and go region by region (he didn't know which region/when).
Apparently 50mb is also bheing trialed at the moment.0 -
I rang up today and managed to get
2 mb broadband
XL TV
Talk Unlimited
Disney Cinema channels
Two extra set top boxes for upstairs
for £48 per month
seems a good deal to me!
(Normal bill was about £45 for phone and xl tv)0 -
Again like everyone else I rang up and got a new deal today. I don't know if it is the best but it is certainly less than what I was paying
2mb broadband
TV xl
Talk unlimited
Total now £35 instead of £46 for similar package with only TV L
So a result for me and a saving of £132 year.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Just off the phone to Virgin Media no joy for me:
TV xl
Phone xl
Broadband M
All for £34.95
Called them when they changed to Virgin Media and got that deal also got my wireless router £39.99 which i had bought refunded onto my account so i guess i should not complain.
But i will keep trying think the deals have really dried up think they are reading this site now.0 -
Tried to get a better deal but no chance. I was told that if i wanted any more i'd have to pay for it!!
dont know if i should try again or be happy with my lot. Current deal is 4mb broadband, very very basic tv, unlimited 24/7 telephone.
Dont want to move as the broadband and telephone is pretty good and cant think how i'd better it for £23.50?0 -

Standard cost =Talk Unlimited (£25) + 4Mb Broadband (£25) + Free TV Pack =£50/month
£26.50/month saving on standard costs.

===================================
Ps: Standard costs:
4Mb Broadband (size L) = £25/month
Free TV Pack (size M) = Free with phone
Base TV Pack (size L) = £11.50/month
Talk Unlimited + Line (size XL) = £25/month0 -
Just called them - 09:02 Saturday and got through in 1 minute:T
Was on:-
Broadband L (4M)
TV L
Phone L (Free Evenings and Weekends)
at £40 per month
Now on
Broadband L (4M)
TV XL
Phone L (Free Evenings and Weekends)
at £37 per month for life unless I choose to change package
(Could have stuck with TV L at £31 a month)
So £3 saved, a fixed cost, and I get all the music channels - which I really wanted! Not a huge saving, but better than nothing!
Told them about Sky £26 deal, loss of Sky One, and also about deals I'd seen on the Internet.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -
I am on 2 for £20 (2 meg broadband and basic tv).
Just noticed they have 2meg broadband for £10 a month for the first year... (new customers only SURPRISE!!!)
So effectively I am paying £10 a month on top for sh*te tv now that sky channels have gone...
Question: If I cancel my NTL and then go back to them after a week or two, will I qualify for the £10 a month broadband offer?!?!
M0 -
RESULT!
Just rang...
I was on the FAMILY pack with 4 meg bb and basic phone package for £32/month.
They offered the same pack for £13.25! If it wasnt for the broadband she said it would be £1.25 for phone and tv! PERMENANTLY!
So I cheekily asked how much to get Sky movies AND sports... after 15mins checking and chatting she got me them included with the above all in for...
£38/MONTH!
For 4meg, all the channls (literraly) and basic phone... :money: :T
Had to wait 50 mins for them to answer the phone but so worth it!Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
