my 6 months free BB with NTL ran out last month so am wondering if anyone is getting BB only deals from virgin?

am considering taking up the 2 for £20 with the BB and phone but would be quite happy just to get a discount on BB only as i'm not paying £18 a month for upto 2mb.

    Hi

Phoned virgin a couple of times now and think I have a better deal basically gave the TV package free -£20 a month off - for the foreseeable future not holding my breath though will see when the bill comes - I will keep phoning - the deal was mostly due to the lose of sky one

I phoned 150 from my phone and pressed 5 to ask any other questions :rotfl:

Ok I've been able to wait 35min and got through. However I was not offered any good deal.
I have only been upgraded to a XL TV (from L) for 6month to cover the lost of Sky channels (available to all customers who ring then). Then I wanted a V+ box and my current box moved upstairs but i was only offered standard prices (those shown on the Virgin website). She was quick to mention the VIP package at £85 but again this is the web price so much so for loyalty. I can't threaten to leave as I'm contracted until this summer.

I suppose i'll have to try again and speak to someone else

    edit:
I also asked about the Free wireless router. But this was an offer for December january only. They had to stop beacause of problems with the reouter (Really??) but they are planning to put this offer again soon (When???)

maybe we got a good offer as we didnt originally have the tv from TW just the net which we ahve had for more than a year, try and speak to someone else or try again in the summer,

If my original contract was with ntl ( and it was) for a number of years, does this mean that my contract with Virgin just carries on, or do I have to wait 12 months before changing anything with them? Also, if I upgrade to a +Box and get a HD set and upgrade to include Sky Sports, will I be able to receive in HD? My TV dealer says that I can't, I have to get Sky.

I phoned up earlier. Been on 4MB broadband for around 4 years paying £25 a month. Never once thought about phoning.

Phoned today and all they could do was knock off £8 a month for 12 months because I'm soely a broadband customer (apparently they can't do deals for just broadband people)...

It still leaves me annoyed because I wanted to get the broadband down to at least £15. I asked about phones and stuff and she was trying to sell me packages but they were all expensive and it was worth keeping BT.

Happy I'm saving, but then again not too chuffed they don't care about a long term Broadband customer...

I had rang sky and asked for an equivalent package of the one I was on with Virgin. They offered me

    Talk unlimited £5.00
    8mb Broadband £5.00
    Family Tv £21.00
making a total of £31.00 + £11.00 line rental to BT.

When i rang Virgin I told them that sky had offered me their equivalent for £42.00 month and she said is that excluding Line Rental.... I told her no, it would be £31.00 + £11.00 and she put me on hold, couple of minutes later she said they could offer me.

    XL TV
    Talk unlimited
    4MB Broadband

    All for £29.45!

Tell them you have had a quote from Sky, that should do the trick! ;)

Only BBC HD channel available thru Virgin at the moment according to their web site. It must be standard SKY sports that they provide , not the HD version,...same for movies too
