Heinz Farley's Baby Milk Discontinued!

To anyone who is interested, Heinz Farely's baby milk - the cheapest one - has now been discontinued and replaced with a fancy milk with extra pro-biotics etc and re-packaged at the cost of £7.99 odd for a large tin.
Thats a good £3 more per tin.
I have rang them up on 0800 212 991 to give them my opinion on this and I urge any other naffed off Mum's to do the same.
If I wanted to spend £8 on baby milk I would have bought Aptamil.
I'm so annoyed... why did they bother to re-package the Farleys milk about 4 months ago if they were going to scrap the product?!
Anyone else annoyed about this?

We knew that the brand was changing and expected a slight increase to cover their 'rebranding costs' but we were still gobsmacked by the price increase. Needless to say we will be writing to complain and changing our formula brand when this lot runs out!Children need love, especially when they don't deserve it!0

yes i've also complained today my daughters milk has gone up from 4.74 to 7.99 and i'm furious about it.
Any way this is my first post ever on mse i've been reading posts for well over a year but this has made me pluck up the courage and say hello.0 -
Like Tea Tree says, we knew it was coming but this is just disgraceful. I too rang them up today and the guy tried to justify it by saying the new formula was close to breast milk. How ironic that in googling my way here I noticed a newspaper article stating that baby milk firms have been rapped on the knuckles recently for trying to make this claim.
In my local Asda where I do my weekly shop the only 900g baby milk under £5 was Hipp organic and the follow on milk I wanted was out of stock too so I'm having to try the starter milk. I hope the change doesn't upset my little boy.
In my opinion Heinz have absolutely no justification for what they have done. Their representative told me that the new milk was to compete with the top end of the market. If they wanted a super dooper nutritious, top end milk why couldn't they produce the product and continue to produce their cheaper version along side it? The simple answer is because they know that nobody in their right mind would buy their more expensive one whilst their cheaper one is still available. The pure and simple truth is that this rebranding is about greed and nothing else.
If Heinz replaced their baked beans, with some new super bean, that was super nutritious and the best tasting bean ever produced then doubled the price of their cans, I could maybe accept that. But we are talking about baby milk here. They should not be allowed to do this and I'm furious. I haven't been this wound up about something for ages. I know it won't make much difference to them but I will be boycotting all Heinz products in the future out of principle.

 I haven't written on a forum before, but I am so disgusted that I had to say something. My daughter is now 10months old and 'loved' Farleys. We had a great deal of trouble finding a milk that suited her as she kept bringing other milks up.
I now can't afford to buy this milk anymore and are anxious that she'll start being ill again. I'm currently trying her on SMA but that is only £1 or £2 cheaper, but I can tell she doesn't like it.
Thank you for the number, I shall go and make myself known!

Hi Guys
Its still showing as under 5 pounds on Boots.com but out of stock (bet someones stocked up)
Maybe if you phone your local boots and ask how much it is in there and and if its still 5 pounds ish ask the to save you some tins then get down there pretty quick to stock upMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

I just came on here to put a post about exactly the same thing and then spotted yours! It is just shocking! I saw this new milk in tesco a few days ago but due to the exceptionally high price I didn't think it could possibly be the new farleys so thought I would go to morrisons to get it. Only to find in morrisons that it is the same milk and they are really charging £3.40 more per carton than I was already paying. So looks like we will be changing to cow & Gate as that is the next cheapest around here but I just can't believe it. Most people I know are really feeling the pinch so to expect us to pay about an extra £15 per month for milk is shocking. I am pregnant again and am now even more desperately hoping that this next baby will be able to breast feed as I'm not sure how we will cope if they can't. Maybe I'll just be pumping for England! Lol.

Maybe try small chemists as well
They price the stock as it comes in so if its normaly quite cheap they wont up the price till they know the new price when new stock comes in
I really feel for you guys over thisMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!

This is awful, sheer greed on behalf of the manufacturers. After a start with SMA which made my son sick I've given Farleys Milk to all 3 of my children from babyhood right through to toddlerhood but am relieved that the youngest one is now at the stage where she's ready to give up her bottles. She'll just have to get used to Cows milk now as I'm not prepared to pay such an exorbitant price for Formula. I wondered why it seemed to have come down in price where we live but the stores were obviously trying to get rid of old stock!!!! Durrrrr...... will ring them and complain.:mad:loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0
