Oh well. Annoying having to have a cold shower last night. Sure bubba didn't like it either!
Just had another thought on this, it maybe the heating element in the hot water tank that has gone, this happened to me once, we bought a new one for about £15, and OH fitted it, worth a go I think.

Evening all, well one step forward and two back!
Good news the new vet is lovely:j very thorough, listened to what we had to say, was fantastic with Phoebe, he seems to be interested in finding out whats wrong with her and then treating the condition (rather than trying to prove a point). He took (more) blood and is going to ring us tonight. Bad news well none really, he is a bit pricy, and well thats about it. He agreed that she seems pretty well and is alert, happy and engaged. BUT..she has lost another 150grammes in one week so........ But I feel much happier as at last we have a vet that likes animals(he has 4 cats of his own), he was giving Phoebe a huge cuddle when he was talking to us and is a general good guy. Also he said how pretty she was(never a bad idea where I am concerned:rotfl: )
I will try and find the instructions for posting photos and let you see what all the fuss is about. As ever thank you for all your kind thoughts.
Pen-Pin!! ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))Hope you feel better very soon.

Evening peeps
Here`s the recipe as promised, it`s from the dairy book of home cookery and the edition that i have is the 3rd revision for the nineties. It was first published in 1968 and has been revised and re published by the Milk marketing board. The original recipes were by Sonia Allison.
Oriental Pork
2 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tbsp Worcester sauce
4 tbsp Tomato ketchup
1 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Mustard
1lb Pork fillet
1oz Butter
1 Medium onion
1/4 Pint of stock ( i used a veg stock cube)
1 red & 1 green pepper chopped
3oz Mushrooms sliced
Mix together all the sauces and marinade the sliced meat - preferably overnight.
Melt the butter & fy the onion & peppers until soft.
Add stock & marinade and simmer until the meat is cooked and the liquid is reduced. Add the mushrooms 5 mins before serving.
Serve with boiled rice or egg noodles, we like the noodles with soy sauce - yum!

Hello Annie
Glad to hear that you got on well at the vet's. Sometimes it's worth a bit of extra effort and extra pennies to find one who you trust. A vet I used in England used to dock puppies tails. I heard him on the phone to a puppy owner once and he said absolutely NOTHING to encourage the owner to think twice, but just said it wasn't a problem and to bring the puppies in. His colleague was nearly in tears at the fact that she was stuck working and reporting to a vet who quite obviously didn't share her love of animals nor her desire to put their welfare first. Ooops sorry, I digress... yes, I am delighted that you have found a good vet who has given you confidence that he will act for the benefit of Pheobe's welfare.
AnnieStar - if your posts somehow vamoosh again, before you click anything else try clicking the big green right pointing arrow on your browser...it worked on this post a few seconds ago, so might be worth a go.
I have completely wasted my day, was like a washed out old rag and ended up sleeping for a few hours. I really really annoy myself sometimes. Tomorrow I've got that assessment thingy I mentioned earlier in the week - it's an hour's drive away, so have to be alert. I know I should be more hopeful, but an hour's drive to and from work for a rather low salary - we all know the price of petrol - but it would be better than nothing...not really the best reason for wanting a particular job. This job hunt is getting me down.
Blairweech, please tell me your corned beef hashed looked like cat food rather than tasted like it...
Bye for now.

Hi guys,
Gentle hugs to Pen-Pin, anniestar and phoebe, Hester, Blairweech and everyone else in need of one.
Welcome newbies.
The nursery staff were nice and early today so no rushing. Been in to see my boss as well as there is an outbreak of chicken pox in the school, the two eldest have had it before LO came along but I just wanted to let her know that I may well be off as I have no one to care for him if he goes down with it. She was fine and very understanding so no problems there. What a wonderful boss I have even if I say so myself.
The paperwork from the solicitors has arrived for my signature for the endowment claim but following some helpful pm's I intend to hold fire and check out the mortgage and endowment board before I do anything. many thanks for the advice peeps.
My child minder for LO is off tomorrow and so I have booked a holiday day but in return she has agreed to take him the first week back in school all day (well until I finish work) as he will not start until the following week so it saves me having to take a weeks holiday then.
Nothing else much to report, a few bits of sewing to do tonight and the inevitable basket of ironing. A quick tidy up first and the lunchbags whilst a couple of tins of 'medicine' cool down in the fridge to help with the ironing.
I hope the rest of the evening is a relaxing one for you all. Take care.

Hi all.
Scuzz - I think there's a bug doing the rounds. My Mum has had an upset stomach since last night Sending (((hugs))) to you. Hope you feel better soon.
Blairwweech - glad the walk helped.
AnnieS - so glad that the visit to the vet went well.
Sistercas - well done to your children for sports day!
Well, I have managed to get quite a bit done today paperwork wise but, as is always the case, clearing some of it up higlights other things that need doing so I shall be having the same sort of morning tomorrow! I wish it could be done and dusted for ever!
Anyway, I'm going to watch a bit of TV and then have an early bath and early bedtime, I think.
May call back later.

Evening once again peeps
i`ve finally caught up with the thread now.
Vampiric addiction - welcome, this is a good place to be
Welcome once again to Lamewolf, you may not intend posting everyday but you will soon become addicted:D
Pollyanna24 / Squiddly diddly - the marinade definitely isn`t for anyone counting the calories:D from reading the ingredients it sounds strange but the taste is great, i make this quite a lot as it`s really quick to do.
Blairweech - hope you`re feeling better now, we`re all here to help cheer you up.
Anniestar - i`m so glad that you`ve found another vet who will be looking after Phoebe, i think of her an awful lot. It`s wonderful when you feel that the vet has the genuine interest of the animal at heart. Some vets just don`t seem to have the right touch do they?
"Baby" waves her paw at Aunty Annistar and sends big :smileyhea to Phoebe, she actually likes cats but can torment sometimes, both her and our kittie take it in turns to torment each other in the nicest possible way of course:rolleyes:
Smoky - ((((HUGS)))) for you and the little ones.
Sistercas - Glad you had a good sportsday, you`re not a million miles away from me.
The telephones a ringing now so i`ll say night peeps.

back again, the deep scan of laptop has finished and nothing has changed! it opens up then the icons flash and disappear, not sure where to go with this
Have had a lovely tea, pasta and a mess of boiled gammon, leek, garlic, cheese and creme fraiche.....honest it tastes better than it looks lol.
Smoky - think its best you are checking out the options before letting sols do it for you. Childminder situation seems good, I know its so hard to find one that suits.....I also have in mind a couple of tins of medicine to help me sort the laptop out, failing that might have to go to offy to buy bottle of wine and BIG BIG bar of choccy.
Corned beef hmmmmmm well I have a thing about it, guess I'm a child of the 50/60s there was a typhoid scare and have always been wary of it, from what I can remember it looks like cat food anyway :rotfl:
Anniestar - glad you feel more comfortable with the new vet
OOOh also meant to say earlier re newbies - I was scared to post on this thread for ages lol I felt like I was gatecrashing a coffee morning, but once I took the step, I realised what a lovely bunch you lot are xxxxxxxxxx so welcome to the newbies and thanks to the errrrrrrrrrrrrr oldies????????? for making us so welcome (nahhhhhh you ain't oldies, just previous posters:rotfl: )
