    hi everyone

hope you dont mind me just jumping in... :P
I like it on OS so i'd like to get a bit more involved and try and be less of a lurker!

Off to work now (where i shall be having HM saag aloo (weezl's recipe!) with rice, HM bread and have HM weetabix cake for a snack too... big improvement for me from the old days of 'buy buy buy' at work food wise!)... see you all later!
    On the up :D

    Hi everyone

Nothing to moan at here apart from the connection:o , and DS not being happy with his job as he not doing anything relative to the job spec and promised graduate position when he joined last year.

I have threatened them here that I am packing the sunshine in the boot when I come back, but can you cope as locally they are threatening 50 degrees within a week or two:eek: , though Yahoo doesn't back it up, though I think they are talking sun temperatures against Yahoo's shade.

Welcome newbies - you will soon find that my sun addled brain remembers "nowt".

Glad you enjoyed the break Jayward - catch you later going to the pool.

If there is a prize for the least OS and laziest on here atm I would win!

((((Hugs)))) to the rest of you, take care - DG

    Afternoon all,

Hugs to all in need or want...haven't caught up yet

Still a bit dopey which I am putting down to jet lag, maybe its just reluctance to get back to doing things like cooking and washing having had it all done for six weeks...just giving myself another couple of days and that's it!

Had a wonderful holiday, was lovely to meet Aussie, wonderful lady who made a very long trip to meet us...have a photo somewhere which I will post when I become myself again. Am now starting to save to go again, trying to take in some of the (many) places we have yet to see.

    Nice to be back...

    Afternoon everyone!

Breakie and snack was hm banana bread and hm hobnobs.

Lunch is egg mayo sarnie (bought sandwich filler and bought bread – very naughty, but my hm bread goes dry so quick and there's only two of us eating it).

Dinner tonight is sausage casserole (not particularly OS as I'm using a jar, but it has been in the cupboard for ages!).

Getting worried about the whole recession thing. Not good when I am 6 months pregnant and about to lose my wage! We have been sensible, but if bf loses his job for any reason as it's not particularly stable... ooh er, doesn't bear thinking about. Bf's answer is “Rent house out as we can't sell [not that I'd want to anyways], move abroad to his mum and grandma if everything gets really bad.” I'm not sure it'll be that simple!

Planning on another No Spend Day today. That will 6 out of the 8 days in July so far. Not doing bad! :p

No OS today as I never do much during the week as I work long hours. Bf did say he did all the hoovering before he went to work though, so I'll speak on his behalf. :p

Bf is complaining about our hot water not working properly, but I don't have the first clue about it. He told me to go on my forums and ask you lot! But now I can't remember what he said. Boiler on, flame working... but something... can't remember. Oh well. Annoying having to have a cold shower last night. Sure bubba didn't like it either!

Essex Girl – great news about your cat. How did you find out she was in a shed? Did the neighbour tell you (sorry, I also didn't finish reading yesterday's thread). :o

Redruby – that's exactly what happened when I made corned beef hash. Me and bf thought it was disgusting, but doggie loved it. So not attempting it again! I saw it as a saved tin of dog food! :T

Betheebee – have a great hols.

Sunnyday – please can we have a recipe? I'm always up for new ones! I only have 1 marinade in my repetoire!

Stefejb – can sympathise with the school uniform – if only on behalf of my mum. When I was at school, the school decided they were so pos that the only place you could get it was Harrods! I mean, purlease. I think I had the same uniform for the whole five years I had to wear it, and it also had a pink shirt.

    Lamewolf – welcome!

One last point – bf felt our baby kick for the first time last night which was quite cool. At least he knows I'm not just getting porky now!:rotfl:

Hi all and welcome to Lame Wolf - I hope your health doesn't prevent you joining us often.

Vampiric Addiction - glad you've stopped lurking; it's much more fun joining in!

MrsMix - (((hugs))) to you; it's good that the doctor is coming out to see you.

Well, I've been ploughing through the paperwork; I still have loads to do but feel I've accomplished something. I haven't packed it away, though, because I intend carrying on a bit later this afternoon.

I've just had lunch and I'm going to treat myself to a couple of hours off on the sofa.

The weather has turned out really nice; not good enough considering it's July but far better than the last few days. I've dared to put some washing on the line.

I've found some leftover fish pie in the freezer so that will be dinner tonight - I'm looking forward to it. It turned out really well when I first cooked it.

Oh, well, I'm going to make a cuppa and settle down for a couple of hours lazing around before I do some more paperwork.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

    Afternoon all,

Have not stopped all morning, tidied through house, put a wash on, which was on the line for all of an hour, before the rain started again  , gave it a bit of a blow though, and now its on the airer in the conservatory.

Painted the crates that OH got me from work, they are the size of roughly three tea chests in a row, gave them both two coats, they look good, they are also in conservatory, cos of the rain, so will get OH to put them up the garden later. Need to get some earth / compost to fill them, then I can get my veggies on the go :T

Dont the veg for dinner, and went round next door to check all ok while she is away, and picked some more rhubarb and a few runner beans, which we will have tonight.

Just going to sit for an hour then off on the school run, then the work starts again

Welcome to Vampiric Addiction and Lame wolf you will love it here xx

Welcome back Jayward, sorry your break was a wash out, hugs to you xx

    Have good afternoons all xx

Have you checked the thermostat is turned up ? thats what it was with mine

Heehee, no idea about thermostat. He's quite clever when it comes to these things, so can only assume he's checked obvious things. I'll ask him tonight though. It's been an ongoing problem. Sometimes there is hot water, sometimes there isn't. Hmm. Wasn't he clever letting me have a shower first, so that I would tell him there was no hot water, so that he could switch on the immersion heater (not that I know what that is either  . Gosh, I'd be a bit useless without him, wouldn't I?!:o )

Heehee, I was so determined to eat it as well as I hate waste. I ate enough so I didn't have to eat anything else, buy bf wouldn't even do that. Funnily enough, our lodger (who I used to cook for) ate it and said it tasted exactly as it was supposed to. So, at least one of us (or two if you count the dog) was happy.

    Just having a quick break.

The washing basket is empty ( including its own liner!!! how about that for up to date!) and it's still fluttering on the line. Sorry redruby, don't want to rub it in:o

2 batches of biccies made, twinks and anzacs. I know they are similar but we love both:D

Welcome to Lame wolf and Vampiric addiction, you'll love it here:D

stefe, definitely agree with annie, get mr sharingcaring to put his hand in his pocket too! I take it a wash accident with white shirts and a red sock wouldn't do it?:rotfl: You do have to wonder at the motives of having a uniform that can only be purchased from the school, and no second hand shop:rolleyes: (If it wasn't child cruelty, I'd suggest stapling her uniform on each morning. Much less chance of losing it;) )

anniestar, hope you've had some success with Phoebe at the new vets.

meanmarie, Aussie spoke highly of you too. Good to have you back posting, look forward to seeing the photo.

jayward, glad you got some rest on your break, but what a shame with the weather. They seem to be saying this is it for our summer. Wet, wet, wet.

donny-gal don't you dare bring that weather back with you:p I may wish it wouldn't rain so much, but that heat and that fierce sun would see me under house arrest!

But, as it is still dry and sunny here, I'm going to go mow the grass. I'll be needing the brasso for my halo tonight:rotfl:

    Bye for now, CM x
