OS Daily thread Tuesday 8th July 2008

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 8th july. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All, hope everybody had a good sleep!
Glad you liked the pictures! There are others there of DD and most of the cakes I have ever made lol.
RedRuby: Yes that is my daughter Jessica and thank you!
Pollyanna: Its great lol... even asked DH when we can have the next one!
I really need to get a move on and tidy up today as my SIL and her fiance are coming over tomorrow to get DD to try on her flower girl outfit! Not sure who is more excited out of us three girls!
My vegetables are all doing well, and the salad leaves I planted are lovely in my sandwiches, Mr Pippad has also been eating them, so there's a result!
We felt it necessary to buy a new to us car at the weekend which we will pick up this weekend. I am now the proud owner of a 51 plate picasso, but I will miss my renault megane.
Right typing this on my PDA so getting RSI and had better sign off!
Hugs to everybody who would like one.

PS 3 of me? I mean us! Wow! What are the odds! If it gets too confusing I will sign up again with an alternative name!0 -
Morning.
Still raining here. In fact it has rained on and off since last Tuesday. The forcast does not look good either. No good for my bees. No good for the tourists as they clogg up the roads and not the beaches.... Pretty carp really.
Off to work soon and then 3 days off. Tomorrow there is a works meeting though followed by beer sampling, so I guess my arm can be twisted to go to that.
Well folks have a nice dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

I am looking for motivation today after being lazy yesterday. I must discipline myself to get going on the 'to-do' list I made; DH is back on Saturday and there was so much I had intended to get done by then! I don't need to go out, anyway, so that's time, petrol and cash saved. I think I'll do the office type work today and leave the domestic side of things until tomorrow. I have yet another pile of filing to get through. Where does all the paperwork come from? I know it's not just me - everyone I talk to finds themselves drowning in it. Whatever happened to the so-called 'paper-less' era?
It's actually not raining here at the moment but the skies look a bit on the dark grey side.
Anyway, an unusually short post for me because I'm off to have a shower.
Will call back later.
Have a great day, everyone.

Morning all
Another grey and dismal day in Berkshire, although looking on the bright side, at least the water butts are filling up! Up early this morning to try and get some studying done but am not motivated as I'm finding my latest OU course a real drag. Still it will all be over in October - heaven knows how I'm going to get through the exam though. The highlight of today for me will definitely be a piece of banana flapjack at lunchtime (I really need to get out more don't I?).
Hope everyone has a great day. It's better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.0 -
Morning peeps
well i just scraped into w*rk on time, i got up a bit later and seemed to spend twice as long under the shower to help me wake up.
Rain again this morning i`m afraid, sunny Yorkshire just dosen`t seem to be as sunny anymore :-(
Hope it`s nicer at the weekend. Good news - the little monsters paw seems to be finally healing up! i`m very glad that it`s now on the mend as it was getting quite worrying as it seemed to bleeding most of the time.
I`m going to sort out all my recipts later and update the GC as i`m on week 2 now and still haven`t updated anything:eek:
Dinner tonight will be oriental pork & noodles unless i decide to swap it with tomorrows paella instead. I`ll just see which one i fancy later, the pork is in the fridge marinating and it won`t hurt it to be left for a while longer.:D
Hope everyone has a good day.
((((HUGS)))) for all in need.
I`ll catch up with you all later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all
Lovely and sunny here today in Staffordshire.
Brought a sore throat back off holiday, and I've now had it for about 5 days, so getting a bit sick of it now. The cold I was expecting to go with it hasn't arrived, so that's something to be thankful for.
Work today, so a sandwich for lunch and chilli in the slow cooker for dinner.Slimming World weigh in later, and as it's an evening one, I'm not holding my breath
Off to walk the dog, have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Morning all
A flying visit from me, big hugs to those in need. I've been on suicide watch all night, but have to go to work soon & hubby will have to take over. MIL is coming over for an hour to help hubby out later. I shall try to leave work early, but it's not easy as we are very busy.
Have a good day.
Hugs Hester

Cup of tea o'clock again - it comes round too early!
Another grey day here too - it's knowing what to wear in a morning - yesterday it was cool and very wet, but then the sun came out and i melted!
Essex-girl - did your kitty turn up? I didn't read the end of the thread yesterday.
Out to supper tonight (if my friend remembers - this is our third attempt!) and maybe some pyo raspberries after work if it isn't raining and the place is open.
Hugs to anyone who would like one,

MIOLIERRE hope you get your work done, you sound like you're having a lovely time.
Had another bad sleep despite OH not being here to snore his head off. Not raining at the mo but cloudy, might put washing out as it's towels. More studying for me today then I want to nip to the allotment after lunch and check everthing is ok. at least it will be quiet as OH will be in bed. Also have gardening club at school, my last one as DS starts juniors in September. Feel really sad about it as it's a lovely school and i've really enjoyed helping where I can.
No idea about tea, am uninspired at the mo, might have a trawl through the freezer.
Have a good day all.
