Currently studying L194 Portales Beginners Spanish and am due to start M150 Data, Computing and information in Feb next year!! Been and bought my digital voice recorder and headset thingies today so I can do my oral exmas over the PC!! How high tec is that!! Makes a change from standing in some dodgy old broom cupboard at school doing GCSE's 13 (!) years ago!!! hehe!!
I'm currently a single mum of two little ones aged 5 and 3, so am making the most of not being at work!! And improving my mind and CV at the same time!! hehe!! I've got the courses paid for as I'm on IS, but are there other grants available too? I've applied for the computer grant of £255, but not heard anything yet.
Hope to get to know you all better soon!!

nirelandguy wrote: »Hi, I think half the problem is I got an E in GCSE English, 99% of the material is wrote in fancy language which I do not have a clue about, If It was wrote in bog standard English I might stand a chance. Below is my latest TMA mark, which for someone who does not have a clue isn't to bad, Now if you asked me a question about a subject in the TMA now I would not have a clue
93% is fantastic well done! What course are you doing?Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos0 -

Need some advice on the best course of action here. I am doing M255 Java Programming, My TMA is due next week, I am stuck at the last question, Infact I got lost some months ago on this course but have managed to bluff it this far, I simply do no have enough time to go back and read over everything. What exactly should I do? Do I submit my TMA with the last question missing?0

Can you not speak to your tutor and explain your problem? I am only doing an Openings course but have found my tutor very helpful.
I'm sure they will understand... they are there to help as much as they can but they can only help you if you talk to them :rolleyes:Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

Has anyone thought about next year yet?
I'm getting on ok with my BU130 and DB123 and I'm toying around with next year's choice. The 60 pointers starting in February have to be registered by December and I'm thinking of doing DD202 the economics course. ~The thing is it costs £610 and I think I've used up my allowance for the year with the course grant so its a lot of money to find. But I don't want to wait another 12 months to study it.
What should I do? Pay up or wait?

Have you checked the course forum? There's usually someone else in the same position, and also lots of other students willing to offer help.Need some advice on the best course of action here. Also how about contacting learning support dj9928? You can contact them at your regional centre....
Welshmoneylover - you can pay in instalments if that helps? You can also use any Tesco points you may have towards a course. Are you doing it for a career or personal reasons? My two pence worth would be if its career based go for it now!
Best wishes everyone
(12 days to the results - and I'm not nervous - mmmmmmmm)0 -
If it is career based Welshmoneylover...would your company not 'sponsor' you??
I'm personally saving up my teso clubcard points to help fund my next courses. Am doing L194 now and M150 starting in February.
Another question, how many courses do people take each year? I am working part time now but only in the evenings and DS is in school all day and DD parttime mornings.Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0
