Morning all,
Welcome back to Mioliere, meanmarie, charlies_mum and donny-gal. I hope you all had a good time.
Candygirl, sorry to hear you aren’t sleeping well. Hugs.
Essex-girl, I hope your cat turns up soon. It’s worrying when they disappear…I hope she’s just sheltering somewhere.
Kyle, I hope the boys are feeling a bit better today. Hugs for both you and twink.
Redruby, try to find some 'me time' in your day to yourself. You deserve it!
Congratulations to Penny and dd on the race for life.
Pippad, Joshua is gorgeous! Pippa.S I understand your confusion, there are now three Pippa’s posting on the daily.
It’s looking a tiny bit brighter here after a weekend of non stop rain. I was working this weekend and it was a busy one. Normally I enjoy a busy weekend at work but with all the rain I got drenched every time I left a house to run to the car so each time I got home I just dried myself off before going out again. It was our wedding anniversary on Saturday and I managed to get someone to cover my calls on Saturday night so we went out for dinner. We went to a country pub we haven’t been to for years and it was fabulous…really good food at reasonable prices. We rarely get the chance to go out when it's just the two of us and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we've promised to try and make the time to do it more often.
I’ve been moaning lately that the freezers are fit to burst and I can’t find anything in them, so Mr Pink (who cooks when I’m working the weekend) had a brainwave yesterday and did a ‘party’ tea. He defrosted and cooked all sorts of bits and pieces…….hm sausage rolls, vol-au-vents, prawns, chicken legs etc, then he padded it out with crisps and dips and some salad stuff from the garden and the kids thought it was a real treat! I think he might be a natural Old Styler at heart.
Plans for today are Ironing and pulling stuff together for the holiday and not a lot else. I need to have a rummage in the freezer to get inspiration for tea then I’m out to work again this evening.
I hope you’re all having a good day.

Goiod morning everyone,
Just back from school - went up to wave DD off - and come away in tears!! Luckily i held it together until the bus went, i had gone to give her a hug and say goodbye, but she was already on the bus, so i thought that was good, but as the bus drove off, she gave me that guilty look as she waved - so i am now feeling guilty and dreadful - i know she is going to have a lovely time, even though the weather is not looking too good, and hopefully she will stay the whole week, it will do her good but i do worry! Didnt feel like this with her brother last year, but he is a different type of child completely. I had so hoped she was going to be smiling on the bus!
Anyway, no children here until 2 today, so going to catch up on some cleaning and the competitions!
I have read the thread, but cant remember anything, so ((HUGS)) to everyone.
Pippad - Joshua is a beautiful baby!!!
Elona - i felt the same when i read what Mr Clown had to say!! Why dont they turn the poppy fields in Afganastan into fuel crops, they say they cant stop growing the drugs because of money, but surely with the need now for food and fuel, this would be a better solution, but hey, what do i know!!!
:hello: Taplady and mrs mix
Have a lovely day everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning all
What a grotty day - wind's so strong and kept me awake half the night...thankfully it's stopped raining as DD1 is on her school trip.
DD2 tucked up on the sofa with her poorly chest - antibiotics are kicking in though and it's getting easier to breathe now.
Swished and swiped all through, hooverd and dusted the living room and cleaned out the parrot - beds aired and remade and DW loaded and just about to finish. 2 loads of washing drapped on airers - I will not use the TD - I will not use the TD.......
Yeastless pizza tonight, got lots of odd bits to use up so will be an interesting combination of flavours
Ebay sales took off at the last minute yesterday and one item that had sat at 99p for 9 days suddenly sold for £26 :j . Got loads more stuff to list but will leave it a few days as I think it's a cheap day listing tomorrow and it seems to get flooded with stuff. Trawled through quidco last night too and managed to click through for £8.90's worth between mine and DH's account. Every little helps
Hope you all have a great day."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

Hello everyone
EssexGirl, I hope your kitty is OK. Let us know when she comes back.
It's another day without wo*k and pay for me:( and yes I know it's of my own making. I really didn't think it would drag out for so looooooooooong.
I now have to boast about my internerd bargain finds....I have this wedding to go to next week and yes, I bought my outfit last week. It's black and white, but really needs to be livened up with some nice accessories. Well hurray for sales and this site - I got a red handbag for £6.00 and a watch with a red strap also for £6 both from Debenhams. After a hunt on this site I found a code for free delivery. I really totally seriously doubt I'd have been able to spend less than £12 had I gone to the shops. I'll paint my nails red and make do with what other jewellery I have. Just have to get some "support" underwear to scoop myself into:rotfl::rotfl:
Pink, belated happy anniversary, glad Mr Pink and you had a lovely time together.
I'll have to go and have a snufty round the freezer now to find something for dinner as my cats helped themselves to the cod I had precooked yesterday. Little beggars!

Afternoon all, hope today finds everyone happy, well and dry! Bit of a "bitty day" (IYSWIM) Still not sleeping very well but at least the nightmares are no where near as graphic. Been doing quite a bit of thinking about everything that has happened and my thoughts on how to deal with things. It is our wedding anniversary on Wed (14 years
) and whilst we have no desire to do something extravigent to celebrate do want to do something to mark the occasion(particularly with the new time is short philisophy I have adopted) Normally I(or sometimes we) made a point of going to mass on the day itself now some of you know the priest that married us and was a very close friend passed away very suddenly in April and don't really want to do that(additionally since hte accident I am having some problems praying) and given that the evening recpetion and funeral was only last Tuesday/Wed really don't think its what we want to do. Also, I feel really bad htat I didn't get round to donating for the race to life:o particularly the fantastic people that raced from this board. Pen Pen, Shez(sorry i DID have a list) and anyone else I have omitted. Anyway, DH and I have decided to make a donation equivelent of what we would have spent on a meal out to St Ann's Hospice in the name of MSE OS Board. I hope thats ok wiht everyone particularly the runners?
We have (once again) switched vets to a reccomended hospital so hopefully we will get some results and a real diaginosis for Phoebe. Going tomorrow so hopefully things will become clearer.
CatOwen (((((HUGS)))) I am sure your DD will have a wonderful time.
Smokey you are doing a wonderful job. ((((HUGS))))
MeanMarie welcome back
HUGS to all. Again many many thanks for your continuing love, kindness and support. Am off to deliver the exam scripts back and to do various bitty things. Will post later.Take care and have a lovely day. Ann xxxxxxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

Hi all - just popping back in before I have some lunch.
Elona - I hope your BM arrives and that DH doesn't answer the door. I was crafty with my Remoska and ordered it the day before DH went off to France! I wanted a chance to practice with it before he comes home so that I can say I have used it every day and it won't end up in the back of the cupboard where George Forman is spending his retirement! Like the BMs they do cost a lot of money but the savings are enormous. I haven't bought shop bread since I got my BM and, with just the two of us here now, I reckon I have been saving £5 a week for the last fifteen months! That's around £260 a year - you'll double that if you spend £10 a week! Your BM will have earned its keep in no time.
Essex-girl - hope your kitty is OK; she is probably hiding from the horrid weather. They hate being wet, don't they?
AnnieS - (((hugs))) to you.
Catowen - she'll be fine, just you wait. It is such an emotional time for us mums, isn't it? I agree with you about the poppy farmers in Afghanistan. If they only paid them enough to make it worthwhile growing food instead of drugs it would make such a difference. Having just read that the G8 summit in Japan is costing £280million and they are having 8 posh banquets, I think I know where that money could have been better spent. How dare they lecture us on now wasting food?
Anyway, I must get off my high horse and go and do some non-waste economical lunch! We don't need lecturing to, do we?
See you all later.
