OS Daily Monday 7th July 08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th july. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning. It's still raining here and has not stopped for at least 48 hours. I am getting bored of it now.

Off to work soon. I worked yesterday and that passed off fairly peacefully. I expect the phone will be ringing all day especially after a few choice e-mails sent yesterday. I was supposed to be on a course today, but no one has told me where it is, what time it starts etc.... So I was not intending to show up. (Not that I can as I don't know where to go).

Everything else is pretty much the same. Hope everyone else is OK.

I will post the pie and beans recipe on Wed as I am off and not rushed like this morning...

    Good morning to you all.:hello:

Well I'm up early doors as I can't sleep.
Already bread currently baking in BM and I've just de shelled about 30 eggs as I had a glut. Decided to pickle them so boiled them up yesterday and now they are pickling away. Should be lovely in a few months time.:D

Bit drizzley here, need to hang out some washing but don't trust the weather so it'll have to be over a few maidens.

Had a huge clearout again at home yesterday. Made room in garden shed for car boot clutter so its out of the way.

Managed to get my pine bench out of OH's garage and in house so he's happy as he has more space.

Got my ruthless 'get rid of junk' head on. It doesn't happen very often but I'm taking full advantage.

Got the egg shells in the oven to recycle for chickens to get a bit of grit as I've run out......and it's only 6.20am.:D

Rightio, hope you all have a lovely day. Those who need one a hug is here :grouphug:

Off to make some coffee now and maybe some scotch pancakes, yum. xx

Morning all. No drizzle here....but it is wet on the ground at the moment.

Did reasonably well yesterday. Despatched trouble off with Daddy, so I got some peace in the morning. Instead of getting some jobs done I relaxed and enjoyed myself. I needed it. Then I went off to my mum's to give her a hand with sunday lunch (we all pile round there, so its only right I help). Got home at around 6pm when I started the washing up, and once trouble was in bed the ironing got done.

Then I sat there and nearly fell asleep whilst watching the end of the tennis.

At some point this week I need to go with my Dad. He's got some black currants that need picking and it seems that I'm the only one who wants them. More for me then! Have arrange for mum to take trouble wednesday evening and for dad to collect me so I can go with him to pick them all. Or that's the plan anyway.

I have cleared some space in my freezer, but I do intend to make some jam with some of it. But I suppose I could do that with frozen fruit ???

We're having roast chicken, new pots and a little salad for tea tonight. As for jobs....erm...not sure yet. Suppose I should do the hoovering at some point if I get a chance.

Hugs to all who need them.

Rchddap1, yes you can make jam with frozen fruit, I used to make jelly with blackcurrants, it saves all the topping & tailing, make it the same a jam & sieve it before putting it in jars.
    Welcome back MM.
Wet here, not sure if hubby & BIL ill work today, or at all this week if it rains as much as it's forecast.
I'm off to work now, I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Good Morning All

Very wet here as well today. Need to go into town this morning so will take my brolly. Bit worried as well as our cat hasnt been around since yesterday morning, she normally is very much an outdoor cat but with this weather I expected her back. Will have a look for her in a while.

Have today completely on my own as OH is on a course for work, he will sleep there and go straight to work tonight. I hope to get loads done, will wash the bedding which will have to go in the tumble dryer but need to get loads of paperwork done as well.

Macroni cheese for dinner tonight as OH not here and have got loads of milk to use up.

Have a great day despite the weather & (((hugs))) where needed.

    Morning all,

Torrential rain here, and has been like it all night, the winds are howling too, don't think I will be doing any washing today, good job I don't have too much. Don't need to water next doors pots either  .

DD is off to school, and OH to work, so I have a nice day to myself, need to do a good clean through, and an internet shop, then may do a bit of baking, got some banans to use up, and need to make some cakes for dd's lunch box. So a day indoors I think.

N9eav, looking forward to the recipies

Triker, you put me to shame, doing so much this early in the morning x

rchddap1 I made jelly from my redcurrants, it was soooo easy, Delia's recipe.

Hester, have a nice day at work

Corned beef hash for tea, Have good days all xx

Essex girl, hope your Kittie is ok xx

    Morning all

Have read the thread but can't remember any of it. Hugs to all who need one this morning.

Welcome back MeanMarie and Miolierre:wave: .

Heavy showers and windy here today so didn't go for a run today, did my twist and step machine. Asda first thing, then studying. Want to pop to the allotment in-between showers. Didn't sleep well last night so chances of me falling asleep after lunch is quite high. OH is working tonight so hopefully will sleep better.

Dinner is bubble and squeak from leftover veg and sausages.

Off to have a shower and turf Ds out of bed. Have a good day all.

    Morning all

Bad sleep due to rain and incessant miaowing of cat that wanted to be let out until it saw the rain, then forgot it was raining and started all over again - started at 4.30, finished at 6.45 when the rain had eased sufficiently to go out! Essex girl - I bet your kitty is sheltering somewhere!

Work today - only two weeks to go - ready for the break!

Have a nice day and hugs to all in need,

    Morning peeps
nasty wet and windy here this morning, i got soaked when i went out with the houndies.
I`m tucked away from it all now at w*rk so i don`t intend on venturing out until hometime.
The panny made a brick again this morning:mad: it just dosen`t like the different type of flour that i bought so it looks like it`s back to the doves for wholemeal, mind i`ve never had a bad one from it so it`s worth the extra really, i just with i could find it somewhere locally on offer so i could stock up.
Dinner tonight is spicy meatballs and egg noodles ( i will get the freezer emptied at the end of this month) not sure whats for pudding though.

DH is home tonight after being away fishing in all the bad weather so there will be lots of extra washing to do:rolleyes: i just hope that i can get it all dry.

Meanmarie - welcome back, seems like you`ve been away for a long time.

SnowyOwl - i don`t envy you the worming tablets, my little darling bites when i have to try and give them to her.

Back to the grindstone now so i`ll catch up with you guys later.
    Have a great Monday everyone.
