    Hi folks :)

I've added/amended a couple of things in the Comping Guide:

Posting Comps - section 5 Why am I unable to post a link/URL for a comp?

Removed the number of posts needed to be able to post URLs.
Now includes info about the banned sites !!!! issue.

Getting Started (II) - section 2 How do I keep track of which comps I've entered?

Included screenshots & info about the 'Enter' button
(It has been on my to do list for a while but I've been busy:o)

    That's all, thanks :)
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
  • I'm really sorry, I'm quite confused!! If i find a competition that I think people might be interested in, am I able to just post the link in here? Am I misunderstanding but it seems you have to set up the competition so people reply via the forum?

This is probably a stupid question, so go easy on me! But, when a competition prize is a holiday for a family of four, do you have to take 2 adults and 2 children, or would you be able to get away with 2 adults and 1 child? The reason I ask is that we only have 1 child and so we're either missing out on entering loads of brilliant competitions, or I'm wasting time entering them if I won't actually be able to take the holiday!

I don't think many would have an issue with that, holiday prizes aren't booked till they have a winner,as they need details only you can provide, so technically you are saving the company money!

Wems (winning emails) usually say congratulations or winner in the header (but not all of them) some say the words in the body of the email

If you get hundreds or thousands of emails a day (like me)

It might be a good idea to set a filter in your email with the words "congratulations" and "winner" and set the above for both "subject" and "body"

I have these words set in a filter so that when any mail arrives with these words the emails are automatically filtered into a folder called "Competition Prizes"

it does give some false positives but as an added bonus by filtering the word winner you also get to see the winners of competitions as well

you can also use filters to find competitions to post by setting a filter for the words "prize" "draw" "win" "competition" and set the above for both "subject" and "body" and filter them into a folder called "Competitions"

the above sounds complicated but is quite easy to do

How To Set Up Email Filters In Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo

Setting up email message filters in Outlook

    Setting Email Filters in Thunderbird

    hope this helps!

    Best of Luck :)
