you can eat every meal in london using tesco deals if you do them.

ref my earlier q about oyster card, yes i have been able to order 4 against my account. trouble is, they're all registered to my credit card so i'll be wanting them back at the end of our trip. they are certainly the cheapest way to travel.
Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc

  • This place is a bit expensive but it's totally different to anywhere I've eaten at before. Tiger Lils. http://www.alondonguide.com/tigerlilsislington.html

I don't know if tigers and pandas are a good combination though. Unless you can whittle your bamboo into a spear if necessary.

apologies if this isnt the right board...

im going to London in a few weeks with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday and would like to book a really nice restaurant for us... we're staying around Bloomsbury/Holburn so anything around there will be fab, altho we can always get a taxi... and im fairly flexible on price, kinda....! :p

I thought there was a revolving resturant in London (old BT tower or something) but when i googled its now closed?! Anyway, something like that would be great!

    Would welcome any suggestions :)

this doesn't quite respond to your post but thought I'll share it anyway :D there's a lovely little Italian coffe place on Theobalds Road, think the name of the cafe is call City Snacks or something not too inspiring... its next to one of those chain-coffeehouses not far from the bus stop. DH and I chanced upon it, had a really nice black coffee each and he had a pretty good bacon butty for under 4 quid! might be a good place for breakfast if you're staying around there.

Would the Royal Observatory at Greenwich be of any interest? Google it for info. (I would have added the Cutty Sark, but I believe even the visitor centre may be closed now.)

If so, I would recommend combining it with a ride through Docklands on the DLR. Alight at Island Gardens for a fine view across the River to Greenwich, then walk the rest of the way via the tunnel to avoid getting wet.

Only drawback: you-know-who might be on the prowl (unless he spends all his time posting here).
However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts

*omg - we are going to see the Doctor Who exhibition at Earls court - my girls LOVE doctor who laughing-smiley-014.gif
*am printing off map of mother mash place - that looks scrumdiddlyumptious :)
*we ARE going to the Tate Modern too - but I aint telling the girls until we walk through the door otherwise they wont come with me & I WANNA go redface.gif

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...
