    Hello pandas66

Have you been to the Tower of London and seen 'The Ceremony of the Keys'?

It's free to attend but you must write for tickets:

    http://hrp.org.uk/TowerOfLondon/WhatsOn/ceremonyofthekeys.aspx

I've been, it's free and it's great to be included in a piece of history.;)

    Regards

    Nile

I did this with the school on a trip to London back in 1985, it was kind of spooky, but cool at the same time.

RE: Tube & bus - you can do one of 2 things:
    - Buy an all day bus ticket (£3.50 I think) and an all day all zone tube travel card (about £5) or
    - Oyster card. Costs £3 for the card. It's something like nlimited bus travel is £3 and unlimted tube travel is £5.10.

DON'T buy both an all day bus ticket AND an all day tube ticket - not on the same day anyway. The tube ticket is valid on the buses as well.

you can get a visitors oyster card for £12 which includes £10 travel

mmm yes but that's £2 down the drain. With a normal Oyster card you get the £3 deposit back if you hand it in.

To get your £3 back from the oyster I had to fill in a form so get these before you leave London.

I don't have a 15 year old kid but when friends come down my faves are:

John Soanes house museum, Lincolns Inn Fields. FREE! Most amazing little museum in London. Not spoiling it by describing it. Also the old curiosity shop is on the south side of square.

Weekdays: All 3 Inns of court that are around chancery lane. FREE! The original, octagonal church of the Knights Templar (DaVinci code) plus a church on stilts and other very beautiful buildings. If you're around here search out the v old pubs on Fleet street and off Hatton Gardens. Names escape me.

The boat cruises from Westminster pier are v cheap if you have a valid oyster card. only £5.50 for return to greenwich instead of £9 or so.

And Nels has a good memory - big bench in the middle that you can sit on and shut your eyes if necessary laughing-smiley-014.gif

As a girl who likes her Mash that Mash place looks proper fab :)
