Hi all, I have just booked flights to Toulouse for DH and I to go on Tuesday. We spend a week there every year staying with DF's in their beautiful farmhouse. We didn't think we could make it this year what with one worry/crisis or another but have deceided to go for it. Someone posted on here words to the effect 'make every day count' so am taking the advice. DB2 has his kids visiting so he's not alone. The news of DD2 may not be as bad as feared so I don't think we are abandoning anyone.
DH is putting more insulation in the 2 lofts, he came down looking like a drowned rat, it's so hot up there. Hopefully it will reduce heating bills.
Have made some lentil soup for lunch tomorrow, stuffed some peppers and made a quiche. Curtain making on hold. Off to iron holiday stuff, must remember to take some Stardrops for DF's along with the much missed bacon, chedder, and Carr's water biscuits.
Hugs to all x0 -

Tired-Mum - Glad the interview went well fingers crossed now. Re Things to do in Essex this weekend - the army museum in Heybridge (near Maldon) are having a fun day at the museum of Power in Langford (once again near Maldon) on Sunday. There will lots going on including a display from a motorbike display team. I would definately be going but its our school fete that day and I promised to take the kids to see Prince Caspian. If you fancy it have a look on google, there should be something on there about it.
Redruby - hope your daughter feels better asap, Schools are amazing nowdays arent they, always seem to be telling us how to bring up our children then allow something like that to happen.
Bethebee - glad you had some good news.
PP - hope you made your outing.
Having a quiet moment as DD in the garden, OH having 40 winks and DS playing out with his friends. I didnt get much done today as I got held up with work calls. Did manage to pop to a Tesco express for a few bits. Having burgers with chips for tea. Nice n easy.

Evening all
Hugs to all who want one today
Today has been spent "faffing" - I seem to have flitted from one thing to another. Washed all the hard floors, listed 12 items on ebay and sorted some washing - but that really is about it.
DD2 has her tutor here at the moment so I'm staying clear, how is it she can learn so much in an hour and a half but forget it in less than 10 seconds? After looking around the local high school this week I'm even more determined that she won't go there - the snob in me wants so much more for her.
DD1 rushed in from school, got changed, sprayed copious amounts of perfume about, put on some jewellery and then rushed out with friends to the park....I'm guessing there's boys involved the way she actually brushed her hair too.......I remember those days well
No plans for the weekend, hope to get to the beach if the weather holds.
No cooking tonight - having dips and crisps/veg sticks and a large glass or 2 of wine.....really feel the need to veg out in front of a film.
Hope you all have a great weekend."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
You could also look in the left over challenge thread and the Grocery challenge. Now the weather supposed to be getting a bit better, you could try things like spicy chicken wraps or fish with seasonal veg done in the oven.(wrapped in tin foil parcels), with maybe a bit of salad.Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
