thanks saz am still here just not posting much

whoever asked about crackers heres an idea to try , apparentlys u can get xanthum gum in tescos in the free from section

    Herb crackers

    100g almond flour - carb 7g approx
    2tsp Xanthum Gum 0g approx
dried herbs of your choice ?g eg chive, basil, oregano
    seasonings to taste.
1 tbspn oil and some water

    ecc 7g for whole recipe
carb count not counting dried herbs made 16 crackers less that 1 each carb , mix all dry then add a tbsp oil then mix in the water till you get a paste.

roll into small balls and flatten them as thinly ad possible on to plate. Nuke in micro for about 5 mins till they are crisp may take longer or less depending on micro watt. leave to go cold they will harden up more.

    oh and couple other things

sausages.. most of the 'finest' range sausages are ok but check the carb counts to be sure, morrisons chipolatas are really nice.. so are debbie and andrew brand also found them in morrisons but think asdas do them

polyol carb count.. polyols are basically sweeteners and technically not counted as net carbs tho some people insist u do count them. whatever if u do intend eating these be prepared for some unusually stomach sounds!!!!... far better to have a good dark chocolate

right i am off to collapse in a heap somewhere... keep on keeping on guys u are all doing brilliantly

Ted that link was most interesting , thank you for that.
The evidence seems conclusive enough to me.

In his speach he mentioned in one article that carbs were given to people who suffer depression - but did not mention how or why they think this would help ?
I have found that my brain is feeling brighter since follwing the low carb plan ?

.This Taubes discussion is worth a read if you've time I'd say read The Diet Delusion as well as that adds loads and loads more science but it is a hard read for those not used to science papers

This is the typical findings. After I had been on Dr D's diet for about a month I knew I was finding it easier to concentrate and I was thinking much quicker and with greater mental clarity. No more Brain Fog. As it's sunny now I'm going to take advantage of the sunshine and I'll try to explain how carbs affect brain function later but the evidence that depression and impaired glucose control are linked is incontrovertible. Low carb diets should be suggested for everyone with depression.

Depression is of course a very complexed condition... I should know I've lived with it all my life lol x

Whilst I am reluctant to single out particular dietary changes as being the fix for everyone's depression, in my case I do feel that the low carb approach does appear to be helping regulate my low moods. For a while I've had a lingering suspicion that there was - for me - a significant hormonal factor in my depression. And if this is related to blood sugar control then that would make sense. So this is why, for me, the low-carb approach is not just about weight loss...

I am finding - again, for me - that diet in combination with a variety of other interventions seems to be working. I'm not endorsing this is approach at all, but for anyone in a similar boat I'd say read everything you can, be open-minded to new approaches and do what works for you:)

And by the way - to the person who thought of grating cauliflower as a rice substitute - you are a total genius!:D :T Me and Mr Badger had it with our lamb curry last night and it was fab!

    Hope everyone's doing ok today.

    Much love,

I can't take credit or inventing it, but I think it was me who suggested it ;)

I want curry now, and all I have at home is brocolli and cauliflower soup :(

(PS - you and badgie kept that quiet - I always thought he was single!)

awww hun... all I did was bung some leftover lamb and veggies in with curry powder and then added some cream and fresh coriander - it didn't take very long. Would be lovely after your soup:)
