jscalow , Im amazed you could eat pork scratching :rotfl: , what a great way to loose weight. I am still thinking about it.

As for cholestrol, I had mine tested and got told that I have the lowest cholestrol they have ever seen:eek: , I scored 3.00 - aparently the same as eskimos who eat only Fish (protien).

I looked in the mirror this morning and think Ive lost more weight ,
Im too scared to weigh myself :o .

OWS , if you are worried why dont you get your cholesterol checked, then follow the diet for 3 months and have it retested ?
    Kindness costs nothing :)

    Mirry,
I love your fear of the scales ! I only use them every 2 weeks. and great news about your cholesterol. I am wearing clothes today that I've not worn for over a year- and they are comfortable.
Regarding sausages - i eat tesco finest british chippolatas about 1.7% sugar per 2 grilled sauasages. I tend to eat a lot of pork as its cheaper than beef and I am bored of chicken.

Jscalow , well done getting in your smaller clothes , I am looking forward to that moment so much  .

I was going to make a colslaw and notised the full fat mayo has sugar in it  .
so what mayo are people using on here ?
    Kindness costs nothing :)
  • Has been covered some time back. ;)

Sainsbury's French Mayo has the lowest carbs but does contain some sugar.

Sainsbury's Organic Mayo has no sugar but about 1% higher carbs.

And I love finding clothes that I haven't worn for years and seeing how close I am to getting into them (already have with lots of things :j)

well its the end of another dieting week for me today and so its weigh in day.I'm pleased to say I've lost another 3lbs and am now finally no longer 13 stone something but 12 stone something. Not a big milestone but for me it feels better to be a 12 stone rather than a 14 stone that I was when I started low carbing

As for Mayo I use the hellmans as I like the taste

    owsaboutthatthen,
But now, some of the same researchers who long scoffed at the diet are putting it to the test, and they say the results astonish them. Rather than making cholesterol soar, as they feared, the diet actually appears to improve it, and volunteers take off more weight.
Total cholesterol fell slightly in both groups. However, those on the Atkins diet had an 11% increase in HDL, the good cholesterol, and a 49% drop in triglycerides. On the AHA diet, HDL was unchanged, and triglycerides dropped 22%. High triglycerides may raise the risk of heart disease.
    for full post see http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2002-11-18-adkins_x.htm

cholesterol is not even something that I worry about doing this diet- get dr atkins book- any charity shop will have a copy for £1, it will put your mind at rest.
welcome to the diet- good luck, we all love it !
Thanks very much....sounds very convincing again now! I did have the Atkins pack which my mum bought from QVC at the time...but she got rid as she changed her view on the whole thing! Anyway thanks for your advice. Will seriously think about doing it again.

    Hi guys! :hello: :j

How are we all today? Hope everyone had a good weekend:)

ravylesley - well done on losing 3lbs - that's great hun! Ok, so update as promised: the cauli pizza came out quite good. We found the bases were too delicate to remove from the baking tins, so just ate them off the tins... less washing up:D:D But having just read Shykins' last post, I realise this might be because I didn't know you have to squeeze the water out of the cauli after you grate it. I will definitely do this the next time I make it. Lesley - I added some dried mixed herbs to the base ingredients, to give it some more flavour and I guess you could also add a little chilli powder to pep it up?

Eating it fresh out of the oven I didn't think it tasted altogether like pizza, but it was delish nonetheless and Mr Gillette reckoned it was a tasty thing to eat in it's own right. And I reckon he's probably right, but then again he's right about most things... I just don't want him to know that I know that:D But having the leftovers cold the next day it was spookily pizza-like!

As others have said, it didn't taste of cauli at all. And as others have said also - it was very filling. One smallish pizza between two with salad or veggies is more than enough I think. Next time I make it, I'd like to find a lower-carb alternative to the tomato paste... hmm will have to put my thinking cap on...

daisy - i like the aberdeen angus steak sausages, they tend to be quite low in carbs.

mirry - i usually buy Hellman's mayo coz it's widely available, but the Sainsbury's French does has a lovely taste.

shykins - hope everything's ok with you hun. We definitely need you to keep an eye on us, so don't go too far;):D

Well, that's about all my news. I have salad and some delish leftover roast lamb for lunch. It's all I can do to stop myself from eating it now!:o :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone!

    Much love,

    Hello lovely's,

Well I haven't lost any this week. I have only lost 3lb all month.
I actually think I'm not eating enough fat. I may try to eat more and see what happens.

It's a nice diet, and healthy too, but I would actually like to lose some weight as well - if I'm giving up bread/pots etc. to do it.
I am pleased for you peeps who have lost loads.....but a bit jealous.

    Keep it up
    x

so is it important that we eat plenty of fat to loose the weight ?

How does this work exactly ?
Is it all to do with blood sugars ?
