Low Carb Diet (atkins)

Hello All,
Just checking in with an update.Had visitors all weekend, so ended up buying all kinds of crap food for them; cereals for breakfast and bread etc. Then I had to cook for them, desserts after every meal.......I tried very hard not to be a Diet Bore but I gotta tell you, it got on my nerves. It`s a bit like religion, isn`t it? Once you`ve seen the Light, it makes you want to convert everyone else.....
Tinkerbelle, I think you really held your own on that other thread (McDonald`s) but they were a hard bitten lot! You got out while the going was good, it got boring after you left...
:T
Had a day out in London on Wed, and very stupidly found myself with a prawn baguette in a cafe.:eek:Why I ate the roll, I`ll never know....but it really upset my tum for a couple of days.I was trying not to be a pain over what I was having for lunch, but in the end I got the PAIN!! :eek:Never Again (Slaps wrist) I just can`t digest white bread any more.:o:o:o:o
I bet TED will be able to explain why.Btw that was an interesting link to the research about carbs and throat cancer. I noticed , however that there was the usual rubbish on the BBC news about fry ups and bowel cancer. They trot that one out every now and then, but they never say that all that high fibre cereal is extremely irritating to the gut. I guess they just churn out the news that they think people want to hear.
Glad to hear everyone is still being good and getting thinner.

Now I have lost a lot of weight I am better able to move around and thus I am now more physically active than I was previously BUT this extra exercise is the result of weight loss and NOT the cause of my weight loss.
From the Evolutionary perspective Arthur De Vany has this to say about exercise work outs. Art's point is that exercise should be fun, playful and not drudgery.
It does not make sense. If you burn energy exercising then this is calories & therefore weight.“…the ‘insatiability doctrine – we spend money we don’t have, on things we don’t need, to make impressions that don’t last, on people we don’t care about.” Professor Tim Jackson

13 trials of six months to three years in which pre- and post-BMI measurements were taken. In studies involving nearly 10,000 children, primarily in elementary schools, none demonstrated a reduction in BMI with those who were assigned to the most phys-ed time, compared to those who didn't have as much.
If we look at adolescents we find exactly the same thing.

We all know exercise helps you lose weight. But does it? There is almost no scientific evidence to support the orthodoxy. Indeed, it could even do the exact opposite... Good Morning all low carb eaters!
Just had my 2 weekly weigh in and lost another 5lb, that's now 19lb in 6 weeks. I am well chuffed and have really enjoyed and been motivated by everyones comments and progress on the site. Especially enjoyed reading about tinkerbells spat with the McDonald's lot and I agree with nerdycatlover- yes it is a bit like a religon however I now just say that I am "careful" with what I eat, which is true, I am "careful" not to eat carbs !
Good luck everyone !0 -
well done jsc fantastic results and well done everyone else u aer all doing so well and i am really glad u are all finding this so much easier than u thought
have read a bit of whats been posted and re the cauli base, u really have to squeeze as much water as u can out of it once u have grated it, what i do is flip it after 15mins and cook the other side as well for 10mins that way it gets much crispier

jscalow , well done on the weight loss :T .
Maybe someone can help me ,
Iam having trouble understanding and reading packets .
For example:
I purchased a chocolate product that boasts "with no added sugar".
Its Nutritional information reads ....
per 100g
Carbohydrate 81.9g
of which sugars trace
of which polyols 81.9
To me this seems terrible , am I correct ?Kindness costs nothing0 -
As you know I've reached my target weight so am not trying to lose any more weight but was pleased this morning to find that I had to make two new holes in my jeans belt.
Now down to a 34inch waist from a 42inch one so feeling just a little smug.
