I use splenda very infrequently. I've read bad things about stevia so never tried that.0

I use candarel in some of my baking, only really because it was cheap in Home Bargains and no other reason! It seems fine, no funny taste like some people think that artificial sweeteners have. I'm not that bothered about the claims that it's harmful, everything seems to be harmful now and I'm not eating 3 tablespoons of the stuff a day so it shouldn't be a problem!
Mirry, I felt like you're feeling now until about day 6. Now I feel great! I've really settled into it now, it gets easier every day and the ill feeling doesn't come back!
Your comments about Turkey are getting me very excited! I went last year and loved it so I was very happy that we found a good deal to go back this year! I love the Turkish bread they give you in restaurants, yummy! I'll have to go easy on that this time though or BF will have to roll me off the plane when we come back! LOL!
It's a scary thought that you put weight on when you didn't eat, Lesley! Even more reason for me to keep on eating as much as I have been!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
oh boy , I spent 2 hours last night feeling like I was really ill and sick ,
Now I feel alot better , but wonder if this was me adjusting or something I ate ? But I slept very well.
I have read online that you can make a cake using almond flour ,
however my son has a life threatening allergy to all nuts , so I do not want to bring it into the house. Are there any other flours I can use ?
sorry for all these questions , today I am going to attemp the ooopsies.

Oh Birdie all this talk of Turkey is making we long for a holiday.Even though we've been away twice this year
I'm sure the weight gain is merely fluid retention because I'm back down to what I was before the weekend now
I'm not so sure about these sugar substitutes cos when I read the nutritional info it still states that they have way over the carb level per 100g than we're supposed to have.Hmm anyone got any advice?

Glad to hear that your weight is back down Lesley! Mine has been the same since the second week. My body seems determined to hold onto that last half pound! I'm not too worried though, it's not going back up at all and I'm eating well and feeling good so I'm still happy with how things are going!Mirry, I don't really know about other flours you can use, I use almond flour for my baking. I've read about soy flour but don't know if that's any good for you? And I think it depends on what diet you're following, the IPD only allows it in Phase 2. I hope your Oopsies go well, mine were a disaster! I must try again!I had a protein shake for breakfast this morning, I feel full but oddly unsatisfied. I don't feel like I've eaten until I've actually chewed something! I must retrain my body to accept soups and shakes as real food!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

hi there everyone... didnt get any notifications for some reason so didnt realise how busy it was here
as far as flours are concerned yes u can use soyflour but to be honest its pretty nasty tasting, u can use a high protein flour but its very hard to come by and not that great.. another possibility is coconut flour i am sure there will be some reciepes somewhere for that
usually when u gain quickly after a holiday or whatever it drops off again pretty quick cos its water weight so dont despair... i think we all have a few treats on holiday but as long as u pretty much stick to things it shouldnt do too much damage (hopefully)
right i am going AWOL for about a week as i have stuff to deal with but i shall lookforward to reading about the losses when i get back

Birdie , what protien shakes are we allowed ? It would be something different to try . Good news, my oooopsies turned out lovely , and I have just eaten one that I made up into a pizza and OMG It was delish :T .
It tasted just as good as any pizza ive ever had .
I made mine using my food processor , and whipped the whites until they were stiff ( i think that is the key). I didnt know what temprature to have the oven on , so I used gas mark 7 and cooked them for 22 mins.
I was just reading my jar of marmite and couldnt see any carb info listed on it ? Is marmite ok to eat ? I thought if so I might try some mixed in with my oooopsies before cooking .
shykins , I wasnt sure if there was a coconut flour but think i will try and see if its out there , also are we allowed to eat desiccated coconut ? or does that have carbs in it ?
Thanks for all this info guys.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Mirry, you can have any protein shake with a low carb content. I got one from Natures Best. It's called... err, I can't remember! But something sporty!
I don't have a food processor but I think I'm going to have to get one, so many recipes seem to call for one!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Birdie , I think you would be better off with a food processor if you make up most of your foods , it takes all the hard work out of it . Mine has a jug on top of it for whisking up liquids and smoothies which is coming in handy on this plan.
Do the shakes taste yummy or are they just ok ?
I think I will wait and see if I loose weight first before I spend out on anything else ( I purchased the they syrups yesturday ) but I am not paying for any slimming class which is good. I have all my teachers here
lol.

Good morning my lovlies :hello:
Hope everyone's ok today. mirry - I know exactly what you mean - I have learnt so much from the peeps on this thread :T
I'd love to get a food processor myself. Maybe I'll put a word in early with Santa:D lol. And as for sugar substitutes - I have to say it's something I just never use. I guess I don't really have a sweet tooth and so never do any baking that would require it. I have berries and cream when I need a fix of something sweet, or a couple of squares of 70% dark chocolate and that seems to do the trick for me.
Have left over bacon salad and coleslaw for lunch today. Thinking I might do some leeks and bacon in cream to go with some chicken tonight. Got a bargain in Sainsbury's this morning - 4 wild Canadian salmon fillets (which I love) - for a fiver! Not bad I thought. So looking foward to having those... yum:D
See you in a week shykins:)
Have a good day everyone
