Oooh, Tinkerbell, you did well to stand up for yourself! I can't be bothered getting involved in discussions like that because people will pick holes in everything you say, it does my head in! I don't come on here to have arguments!

What was that comment about Atkins being soooo bad for you?! I felt fine once I got the first few days behind me, not ill at all! In fact, the worst I've felt since starting was on Sunday night after I'd been cheating!

I think that even once I stop being 'strict' with myself and allow some more carbs into my diet (because it is hard work eating out right now!) I'll be much more careful about what I eat. I'll never eat as many carbs as I used to. I just look at pasta now and see a bowl of sugar, I don't think I could go back to eating it all the time!

Thanks Birdie and shykins :) Where are you off to on your hols Birdie? I enjoyed mine so much I want another one:D

Everyone's different of course, but I felt for me that while I was on holiday if I wanted the occasional treat, then I would have it and enjoy it and not beat myself up about it. (And I made Gilly badger take an oath of secrecy not to reveal how many cornish pasties I had;)) But I know other peeps feel it's important to stick with the low-carb regime regardless of holidays, and I can understand that too. So do what works for you, I'd say... and have a great time!:)

I'm going to Turkey and I can't wait! I've already agreed with my BF that I'll allow myself treats if I want since I only get one holiday a year but I'll be sensible. If I want an ice cream I'll have one, but I'm not going to have 4 a day with waffles and donuts! And luckily the Turkish food is mainly kebabs and fish so I shouldn't find it too difficult to eat low carb meals! That's the plan anyway... ;-)

Gillette and Sazzy glad to have you back.Hope the cornish pasties tasted good.I passed a chippy today and nearly swooned at the gorgeous aromas:eek:

One wedding, one christening and a wedding anniversary for me last weekend and I was so busy running round like a headless chicken I only managed one piece of cheese all day saturday and a skimpy meal Sunday.Guess what I've gained two pounds:eek: I cant even claim it was the alcohol cos I didnt have any:A Oh well I'm sure it will drop off this week but its a good lesson to learn that skipping meals isnt a good thing on this programme:rolleyes:

Birdie Turkey sounds great at the moment with all the rain we are having. But they do say at the end of this week will be fabulous and hot.Hmmm believe it when we see it

Hi everyone , I have been a busy girl researching this stuff ,
managed to prepare tonights dinner ....

Diced turkey in a curry sauce (made with coconut milk, tomatos, onions, curry powders) and will serve with cabbage.

Got myself some double cream :p , just had some in a coffee and WOW !

If I get the snacks this evening I am gonna eat some boiled eggs .

Today is day 4 , and I have had a horrible headache over my forehead, and felt generally unwell. Feeling a bit brighter now.

Birdie , I have been to turkey and loved it , they have alot of meat dishes there , infact they are mainly meat dishes :D .
    Kindness costs nothing :)

    Hi everyone,
thanks for a really ineresting and inspiring thread all of you :T .

I just wanted to ask if any of you use Splenda or any other artificial sweeteners as I've heard about a lot of health concerns associated with them.

Also, are any of you using Steevia? From what I've read so far this seems a more natural and less potentially harmful way to have sweet things to eat if you want to.

Any info and/or thoughts from all of you would be greatly appreciated as I'm just a beginner at all this.
