i make a frappucino with protein shake, coffee, ice and cream whic is almost as thick as sorbet .. let us know how it goes
a lot of people avoid sweeteners cos they can stall weightloss. if u want sauces u can make them with cream etc... dig around there are loads of recipes, wil be cheaper too
as far as the da vinci syrups go i have to say they are the one thing i do use, tho i only use sweetners maybe 1 or 2 times a week, they add a lovely flavour to coffee, cream cheese etc and i use them in recipes instead of splenda cos u get the flavour and the sweetness
i still think if u want good weightloss u should avoid all non natural foods, these things are great for later on or for maintenanceWhen you know better you do better0 -
thank you for your advice on this , I think I will get some da vinci syrups for the days I feel like I am gonna fall off the wagon - hopefully that would be a better choice than a bagel
.
With reference to sauces , I could make up a butter/cheese sauce, but do not know how to make up a gravy ?
Im afraid I do not like red meats so will be sticking to chicken /turkey/eggs and seafood.Kindness costs nothing0 -
Had scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast.
Wanted to cook the salmon fillet, cauliflower and chicken thighs that were in the fridge so got that done just now.
DH has just eaten one of the salmon fillets that were cooling and said it was superb.
I have just been tempted by a couple of pieces of the spiced chicken so having a coffee before I get carried away eating stuff.
Might go into York later to get something for DD(19) - wanted DD(14) to come and look for shoes for school but she wants to do that tomorrow.
DD starts school next week and DD(19) goes back to uni in two and a half weeks so it will seem strange, but quiet!
DD has just asked me how the diet was going and am I sticking to it?
Managed not to snap that "Yes and it was not up to her anyway!"
Why if you mention anything remotely connected to diet does everyone feel it is their business to watch what you eat?
And to comment! It drives you bananas (which I no longer eat)
Or crackers (" " " " " )
I feel like screaming "Mind your own damned business!"
Managed not to and also not to chew over my annoyance by grabbing carbs!!!!"This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA

Gravy - I use a blender to puree an onion and use that (with butter) as the base for a gravy. cook until softened, add stock and herbs and allow to reduce - lovely.0 -
mmmm tinkerbell that sounds lovely :j , what stock do you use in that ?
I need to write a shopping list :eek:Kindness costs nothing0 -
I'm veggie, so veggie stock. You could use any stock though. I use the liquid concentrate stock from the supermarket - they do a chicken version.
I make gravy with veggie stock, then split it before serving and pour any meat juices into one lot for the meat eaters0 -
Hello my lovlies! :j
I'm back! Holiday was totally fab. Did you miss me? Hey, wot do you mean - Saz who?!:D Hello to all newbies and oldies :hello: Sounds like you've all been doing great with the weight loss - it's really inspiring, well done guys!! :T
Managed to at least not gain any weight while on holiday - so gonna knuckle back down to it, starting from now, lol. Been semi-organised and brought salad to work for lunch with some salami and chorizo. Got a mountain of stuff to catch up with at work, so better crack on...
Much love to all

welcome back saz. course we missed u, trust u had a briliant time and well done on not gaining!!!
with gravy u could of course add just a tiny bit of almond flour to the meat tin juices then add enough water to make it gravy (almond flour not for atkins induction tho)
i never told ANYONE i was on a diet when i first started atkins cos i got sick of people saying oooh should u be eating that etc etc when i was dieting before.. took so much pressure off and i just got in with it, took them months before they noticed even tho by then i had lost almost 4 stone!!!!!When you know better you do better0
