Low Carb Diet (atkins)

On the IPD you measure as well - neck, wrist, bust, under bust, stomach, hips, and thigh.
On weeks where I lose 0.5-1lb I often see a big drop in inches
It helps me not to feel disappointed about small drops.0 -
thanks tinker thats a great reminder... always measure yrself cos some weeks u lose inches and not pounds, some weeks when i was exercising i gained weight (eek) but lost loads of inches
gillette one thing that occus looking at your menus etc maybe u need to take a closer look how much u are eatin....seems u had (rough conversions here cos i cant work in grams lol)... 3 oz cheese AND 4 oz cream as well as the mayo and butter.. that is quite a bit and some people are susceptible to lots of dairy
yeah tinker i went and checked the coffee essence one and as u say its not as low as some of the others but for maintenance its fine, not had any for a couple weeks as trying to do induction
ka7e well done to u and DD on the weightloss u are both doing great!!! elona i am sure u must have lost with all these loose clothes

I don't normally have the cream. I'll see what i can do about the cheese.
xGirls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -
hello fellow low carbers
funny day today - was up early for work but the place was flooded really badly and as i was not working contracted hours i was sent home - was fairly glad really as it was a complete mess
then had a massage client booked for later and she cancelled too !! so what was meant to be a busy day ended up a very quiet one
went to a bodypump class this evening however tho
foodwise :- B - bacon and HM coleslaw
L - mixed salad coleslaw and roast beef
D - left over roast beef again with broc cauli cabbage and was naughty and had small amount of carrot and sweetcorn
snacked on low carb bread and marmite, a slice of ham and a handful of blueberries
a question for you clever low carb ppl - bearing in mind im following the more relaxed Dr D's plan - where should i stand on pop corn ? the home stuff in a bag you bung in the microwave butter flavour ?? opinions welcomed
hope everyone is well !!!:j MFi3 wannabee :j

Hello everyone! I bought the IPD book yesterday and spent the night (and this morning!) reading it, just to the end of Phase one though so I don't get confused! I'm going shopping tomorrow morning to stock up on the right foods (may have to get a chopper mixer thingy as well to make preparing food a bit easier!) and I hope I don't get too overwhelmed by it all!
I'm looking forward to trying all of the recipes, I think even if I weren't doing low-carb I'd still be wanting to try them they look so nice!
Quick question for Tinkerbell, are peppers allowed on Phase 1 or not?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
Start 23rd Jan 2008 14st 9lbs Current 10st 12lbs0 -
bummer - maybe on maintenance as having checked ( dont know why i didnt do that first !! ) it says to limit !!
back in january i had some cosmetic surgery and during my recovery took lots of pictures to gauge my progress - i had been deliberately not looking at those pictures recently knowing that id put this weight on and was really beating myself up over it and feeling so out of control with my eating
but i decided that tonight was the night i looked at them again !!! i looked amazing then and i MUST MUST MUST get back to that - having spent 6k on surgery ( yes i know not very MSE !! ) i really dont want to compromise at best or ruin at worst the fabulous results the surgeon gave me just cos i cant control what im eating !!!!
trouble is i did the worst of the damage when i went on holiday at the end of may - really ate of plan - wasnt unhealthy just not low carb cereals tuna rolls pasta etc etc and of course copious amounts of beer
so the result was that when we came home and went back to low carb with fairly high levels of fat my body just didnt know what to do !! it stored the fat and gave me no energy - metabolism was screwed so then went into meltdown and thought sod it !!
and guess where im going in 2 weeks - yes back on holidays !! will be trying so hard to stay on plan but will be drinking beer - on a hot afternoon around the pool you cant help but drink it - practically illegal not to IMO !!!
hmmm that turned into a bit of an essay - sorry but i guess you know more about my motivation for getting this sorted now:j MFi3 wannabee :j

Oooh, lovely, thanks for that! I love peppers and was worried that they were forbidden along with my other favourite veggies!
I'm tempted to get the IPD cookbook, I'll probably get it once I've run out of ideas! The internet it great for recipes but sometimes it is nice to look at pictures too!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
