Afternoon my lovelies
Had a nice time at wedding yesterday, it was nice to meet my friend's family, including his 89-yr-old mum - who's amazing!
Didn't stray too badly on the carbs front - had steak for lunch, with mangetout - passed on the bread and the french fries. Did have a few glasses of champagne, but hey no one's perfect right?:o;)
Seems as though builder has fixed bath leak, thank goodness, but honestly why do they have to leave such a bloomin' mess everywhere?
Finished up the last of my chilli and coriander prawns for lunch today. Got some kale I need to use up tonight for dinner - just trying to decide what to have with it... all this talk of omega 3 - maybe i'll open a tin of sardines:D
Sun's trying to come out here, after incessant rain most of the morning. May nip across to shop while it's dry out and before it shuts at 5.
Hope you're all having a good day.
Much love,

2 egg mushroom omelette for brunch. Off to Mum's for a roast dinner now, but I've warned her no roasties for DD and me. Pud may be a problem though - Mum usually makes a choice of 2 or 3 luscious homemade desserts + custard, cream, icecream. I may succumb!
OH has decided to join us in low-carbing. He was surprised that the bacon he ate this morning didn't give him heartburn, as usual. Perhaps it's the combination of protein and carb that does that? DD had an upset tum (the runs!) after eating BBQ sauce 2 days ago and is convinced the sugars affected her!"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

Evening everyone
It was the first weekly weigh in for me and Hubby and surprisingly we've both lost 10lbs!!!!!!!!
I know its the first week and most of the weight loss will be fluid so I'm expecting next week to hopefully be about 4lb each
But I've gone down a dress size.Which would be great if I hadnt just bought a load of new clothes and some of them now are too big and still have the tags on:rolleyes:
I tried the Cauli Pizza tonight and it tasted lovely but not sure I'd make it again as I'm trying to keep the meals simple so as not to overload on the carbs unwittingly.
2egg Mushroom Omelette for brekkie, yoghurt and some unsweetened summer fruits for lunch and cauli pizza and salad for tea
Sazzy sounds like you had a great time at the wedding
Elona Fish and Chips tut tutDid they taste good??

Wow 10lbs ravy - well done to you both! :j
Can you exchange the clothes you bought for smaller sizes?
I know what you mean about wanting to keep meals simple... i have bought a small lamb leg steak to have with my kale for dinner. Half price! :money:Just going to grill the lamb simply, I think.

You MUST NOT put your body into starvation mode or your metabolism will cut consumption by around 40% and you will be stuck with eating starvation rations and still not losing weight.
But you can trick it by very short fasting which is how this Alternate Day Diet work
But you must understand the rules To lose weight, calorie intake on the “down” day is limited to 20% to 35% of daily calorie requirement, although it is strongly recommended that calories be below 25% when starting a weight loss diet. To maintain weight loss and for optimal health, down day intake is kept at 50% to 60% of calorie needs.
So a fast in this context is NOT a day without food. Just a day or part of a day with REDUCED calorie intake.
Tinkerbell is absolutely right that if you stop eating completely for too long your body will adjust, go into starvation mode, and then this will make dieting and weight loss almost impossible.

I went from when I got up until 3pm. I think that won't do too much.
