I didn't have any choc till about a month ago. I've never liked dark chocolate but now I'm addicted. I wish I'd never tried it. Going to have to stop buying it as my willpower is weak and one or two squares are never enough, as they seem to be for other people.

I've had few other carbs today though (bit of tomato puree, little onion, cabbage, apart from the small amounts in meat and cheese) so hopefully won't have done too much damage.

Tis only a hiccup. :D Dont fret. One day's little hiccup is insignificant compared to all the days where you are strict with yourself.

I used to beat myself up if I ate what I shouldn't and then I'd think 'oh well, I've had that now so I may as well have this too' etc etc. Then before you know it, I'd have every type of carb containing food that you could possibly come up with.

I'm now much more chilled if I cheat a bit and it's much easier to get past now. My head was a worse enemy than my appetite or sweet tooth was.

Relax and move on. It's done now and tomorrow is another day. :)

Thats exactly how i used to be when i broke any diet, or, i'd think, i'll have fish n chips today before i start, then it'd be oh just a chinese, indian etc and before i started i'd be pounds heavier.
now, i just forget about it and carry on as normal.

On a side note, I had you pegged as younger than 53. :D Just shows what I know as I had Badger pegged as older.
    My poor Mum! :rotfl:

Well, left the house at 6:50am this morning and got home half an hour ago... so:
    - Total yoghurt, ground flax, chopped almond and raspberries, green tea
    - Spinach, mozzerella and mixed seeds in hemp oil, green tea
    - Veggie sushi
    - Cacao Nibs (REAL chocolate! Only 0.1g carbs per 100g)
    - Margherita french bread pizza, cammomile tea
    - Soya milk with rosewater

I've also been feeling a bit "off" lately (depressed all weekend with no drive), so I took some Omega supplements and a drop of St John's Wort tincture...

  • Well I made HM burgers today and egg mayo.
    B=egg mayo
L =hm burger and mushrooms and spinach
    T= 4 slices of Nimble(36g carbs)
    S/f jelly and cream
    1 activia yoghurt
Not gonna worry about Atkins-just doing lowcarb now.
One thing I really gained though from Atkins is contol over my diet. My aim is to always eat under 100g carbs per day-now I used to be a carb junkie-at least 300g per day of carbs at a guesstimate. As long as I dont gain weight I wont panic. Hopefully the exercise will speed up my metabolism and slowly things will sort themselves out. Scales now put away-Im gonna stop thinking on "weight" and concentrate on well-being.
I do feel so much better than a couple of months ago and Ive got a lot more energy.
Im also getting to bed at a better time(as opposed to 3 am) and I dont get the afternoon sleepiness.
    Many reasons for this:
    Atkins diet
    Thyroid tablets
Daily exercise of approx 45 mins minimum.
Today I mowed our lawn which is largish and is on a slope and normally I find it very hard work! Today I pretty much flew through it and Im also increasing my levels at the gym which I did after mowing the lawn. Was going to swim tonight but they shut early on Mondays so I made the trip for nothing. Surprised now at my energy levels. Therefore-Im not disheartened by the scales as I truly realise that they are only a part of the package.

    morning all!

Well done sweets! Moonrose, HC and all others who have lost! Great stuff :)

Glad we are all quite possitive. Makes a difference.

I find that I can't cheat so much now as I just don't have any biscuits, choc, cake etc in house. One of the benefits of living alone. I'd have to make a special trip to the shop and I can talk myself out of that one :) when shopping now I just don't buy bad foods, except vodka :)

I used to beat myself up over mistakes, then treat myself with more of them :) Just have to get on with it and put carbs out of reach where possible.

Finding being organised food wise helps too.

Have other things on my mind, going on hols from 5th April so having to spend my time flapping about that rather than food :rotfl:

At least I've located my passport :j

    Happy Tuesday!

    Hi everyone:wave:
Well, stood on the scales this morning and........ lost another 1lb:j :j

2lb to go!!! I think I might give up on trying to loose this though.
I put weight on over Christmas and lost most of it straight away apart from 3/4lb. It has taken me since the beginning of January to loose 2/3lb:rolleyes: . I think that maybe this is my natural weight. I don't see much point in continuing to fight it if that is how the rest of my life will be. I think I would rather be 2lb heavier and not have to beat myself up about it. I'm 5'8" and a size 12-14 (depending on which shop I go to). If I can stay like this, I think I will be very happy. My only problem is, we go to America in May so I was hoping to loose a bit more so I had a bit of weight to play with whilst out there:D

Well done on all the weight losses!!!!!!
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)
  •
Lol!! Good to see you are still around kissit!! What have you been up to, apart from lurking obviously?! :rotfl:
  • Congrats to all of you who have lost so much. :thatsbrilliant: Hopefully I'll be up there with you soon. Going to be really strict this week and make sure I lose something to add to my measly 7lbs, lol.
jumping, 7lbs is not measly!! Be loud & proud as alias would say!! ;)
Sorry, don't know anything about acai.

    I said I wouldn't buy any more 85% choc, but I did today. :(

And I've eaten 3/4 of it. Really not sure why I sabotage myself so stupidly. Been so good lately too.

HC, we have all been there, ate the creme eggs etc but just draw a line under it & carry on as you were before. It's a blip, nothing more.
Can you freeze chocolate? If so, you could break it into pieces & freeze them (individually on a tray then put them in a box?) & just get one out at a time. I would imagine frozen chocolate would take a lot longer to suck so you might just stick at one piece?! Just a thought.
