just weighd myself this am and have 6 lb on :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I had eat a bit of rubbish fri and sat lost 4 lb after weighing myself.
Was really strict from sunday all day fast sun and then mon and tue induction diet put on 6lb's what is going on before that i had been real strict for 2 weeks and put on 4 lb. I actually watched my stomach grow last night
food yesterday
B - omlette cheese and mushroom
L- Flax and almond bread
D- pepper Steak and mushroom and hm coleslaw (cabbage and mayo)
Also some chicken breast
Had some low carb juice 0.3 g per undiluted. Tea and coffee with milk about 1/4 pint
Gym for 40 min interval training.
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I'm sorry Stacey, but you're not even close to 'being strict'. Flax and almond bread is not induction friendly. Milk is not Atkins/low carb friendly at all. (and 1/4 pint is loads of milk when you shouldn't be having any). Neither is 'low carb juice'.
Maybe you need to take some time out to get your head around what induction means. Otherwise you're just going to find it isn't working.0 -
Agree with Tink, stacey. Induction IS very strict. Unfortunately you can't just kind dabble with it (I know....I've tried, lol). You really have to stick to it to the letter or it just wont work.
I only have 2 cups of tea in the morning with milk and that's enough to slow me down noticeably. When I make the effort to drink green tea or just water, there's a huge improvement.
I suffer a fair bit at the TOTM and get pretty wound up and have cravings so I tend to allow myself tea with milk that week and am happy to accept the slowdown. I then try to cut it out at other times to compensate.
If I remember rightly, you didn't have too much to lose? I think it's harder in that case and you have to be even stricter.
Don't get too despondant.......start again and you'll get there.Herman - MP for all!0 -

Skin Cancer/Sunscreen - the Dilemma
This video explains the science of the tanning process and the dangers of using sunscreens. This scientific information will help you make more informed choices.
If you haven't time 45mins to watch the video then you can skim through the slides used in it here. though I do suggest you download the video for watching later. It's fairly appalling (and I not referring to the jokes)
Commercial tanning beds in the EEC are now limited to UVB output, so you cannot get very much Vitamin d from then.
You may want to do as I did and buy a secondhand bed from ebay and replace the tubes with high UVB output tubes.
These are still available but I cannot guarantee this will always be the case. HALF the time needed for tanning will improve Vitamin D status.
As I have explained for sun exposure, you cannot get vitamin d intoxication from sun/uvb as once the d3 is made (10,000~20,000iu a time) it then starts processing it on into suprasterols that are not absorbed so it's wasted. So longer than 20~30minutes laying naked at noon or 10~15mins under the lamps and you are doing more harm than good.
Also soap will dissolve the fat soluble vitamin D3 so soaping in the shower after sunbed/sun exposure will wash off the D3 near the skin surface.
As D3 is an anti inflammatory and anti oxidant it helps protect your skin so topping up your D3 with 5000iu/d now $5 codes in referrer's board, will mean when it's warm enough to lay in the midday sun you will start tanning faster. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

:rotfl: Mmmm there's bossy and there's 'bossy' though imo.
[annoyed rant on]
"I am NOT directing this at anyone because you are all your own responsibility but I don't find the copious excuses helpful.
You dont need to.
Maybe not but freedom of speech cuts both ways eh?
We are presumably here with a common purpose. To use the low carb to it's best for some to get a handle on diabetes, others to shift weight.
Agreed. But we all do this in our own way the best we can, obviously it's harder for some than it is others. If we could all do it with no hiccups along the way then we'd all be thin from the first attempt and the world wouldn't have weight problems, would it?
Yes but hiccups are hiccups... not projected periods off the specific plan people are on, childishly moaning and then compounding it with moans about no weight loss. There is either "on the plan" or moaning it doesn't work and surely a bit of this and a bit of that shouldn't be a problem? :wall:
We are not a confessional. Telling us about naughtiness doesn't negate the damage you are doing by not following the plan."
Maybe not but I was under the impression this thread was as much for support as it was for information. Forgive us for falling off the wagon and sharing our sins. I'll make sure my posts are all of the positive variety from now on. (After this one at least. )
See my above answer... I am ALL into "support". However when the support sought is "yes that is fine" when it isn't and when to state it isn't is seen as being bossy then it does seem more like a confessional. I am honestly legitimately worried about the damage they are doing by bingeing and then going back onto the plan.
As for bossy... guilty as charged if this is a result expressing my views in a no nonsense manner.
[/annoyed rant off]
Off to eat a BOGOF pepperami... see I too can emotionally eat but stay on the plan0 -
Latest issue of the journal Axess provides a very good debate article by John Frost Farm, professor of medicine and consultant. Food Administration and the lowfat dietary advice gets harsh criticism.
there is too much here to cut and paste here and it's nice and sunny and I'd rather be outside than retranslating google garbled English translations. So I'm sure you will get the drift.
Johan Frost Farm Professor of Medicine and Chief Karolinska Institutet is supporting those who think a low carb diet is what our bodies evolved to consume.
How long will it be before we see a UK senior academic on the Medicine/ Diet scene breaking ranks and leading the Nutritionists back to reality?

kissitbetta - kissmyass!!
Only kidding, but I couldn't resist that!! Probably be censored anyway!! :rotfl:
Seriously though, I don't agree with a lot of what you said in your last post - I haven't seen anyone "childishly moaning" about coming off LC or not losing any weight. It's usually done in a light-hearted way, not the childish 'it's not fair' attitude you imply.
As for support, I don't think anyone on here says it's ok to have blow-outs - I for one have posted my lapses because I know I'll be given a well-deserved kick up the bum, which is what I get!!
I find it really hard to lose weight, I've been heavy most of my adult life & this thread has been a god-send to me. I think it's great that like-minded people can get together & talk about the ups & downs of trying to lose weight. Yes, there will be some who lapse (ME!!) but if I can start again & not just pig-out for the rest of my life then surely that's a good thing?!
Keep posting & boss away if you want but please don't put us down.
Hope you enjoyed your emotional pepperami!!I prefer creme eggs myself!!

I must admit I do like cottage cheese - LittleMiss do you have a co-op near you?
I kind of like to read that people are eating cupcakes and milk... it makes me feel less useless (just had a roll for lunch due to lack of planning).
Stacey777 - it isn't possible to put on 6lbs of fat in 4 days, there must be something else going on, water retention perhaps. I would try cutting out the caffeine and drinking 2 litres of plain water per day. Also are you getting enough fibre?0 -

I'm totally with you here sweets. The support of people who aren't perfect has helped me keep it real. I have some issues regarding self sabotaging so no longer put my food lists on here. Hearing that I'm not the only one to slip up and how folk deal with these things does help. Will power only counts for so much, it's motivation that makes most difference to success. A kick up the aris kindly meant works. Beating folk over the head with their uselessness seldom does
