newish.. it was touch and go with my holiday too as i needed the results for travel insurance, managed to get cancellation for test before hol but still had echocardiogram test outstanding so had probs with insurance but managed to get a much cheaper quote on net.
Great news on the cholesterol tho
How did OH find the test procedure? didn't hurt me but just the thought of what had been done made my toes curl.0 -

Hopefully, holiday insurance will be ok as took it out last October and symptoms only started in December..... so should be covered???.
I will ring them tomorrow. We only got a definate diagnosis of angina today so haven't rung them yet.
I think DH had a trainee as it took 3 attempts and at one stage he went right through the artery:eek: . It's quite bruised now and he says it is aching but other than that he's ok!!!. Worst part is, when the consultant came round, he said, had he'd been doing it, he would have gone on ahead and done the angioplasty and stent today..... could have all been over:(If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Oh no... that is usually what happens, i was told if i had narrowing i would have a stent that day.
My arm ached for a few weeks, i felt like it needed a sling to support it but i got a wrist support which helped.
They should really have called someone to do the stent, i would be very annoyed with them.
Still, as long as he's ok for the hol.0 -
just wanted to mention milk - about 6 months or more ago i was on this thread saying how i could never give up my tea with milk as it was one of my lifes pleasures then at one point when i tried to buckle down and be very good i did stop the milk and tried my tea very weak but black and a splash of cold water instead of milk and im still taking it like this today - cant see me ever drinking it with milk again if im honest and its no hardship - so long as its really weak

mazzers, I so hope it doesn't ache for a few weeks, after all, he's a man and you know how men moan lol:rolleyes:
. I just hope the next appointment comes through sooner rather than later.
Daisy, I was the same as you, loved my coffee with milk and one sugar. Initally, I couldn't bear black coffee so I just went without but craved a hot drink. Then, someone said to me to put a bit of cold water in instead of milk, as it takes the bitteness off the coffee. I tried this and it was bearable. Now, I can't bear the thought of having milk in it:cool:If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Hi
I've started this today but think I've eaten far too much veggies etc. I've been STARVING! Obviously today is the first day so will eat more until ketosis kicks in, but veggies wise I've eaten
2 celery sticks
3 "cups" of spinach
1/4 of an iceberg lettuce
2 radishes
2 inch piece of cucumber
Protein wise:
3 boiled eggs
roast beef
1/2 a packet of Boursin cheese (in the celery)
and a wee stick of Edam
I know I've wen't way over on the cheese but the veggies? I was aiming for 20g of carbs today (Atkins Induction level until my book arrives from the internet) but reading online people seem to eat 3 cups "loosely" packed. I measured in th measuring jug and obviously think I am way over in veggies? Am I way wrong?
Its been so long since I've done this, and still waiting on the book.Feb GC £41.23/£90
Debt £0/£2140 (everything bar the mortgage). 16th Month 0% interest, ends May 2009.Mortgage - £54000Competitions won: Gu Chocolates (Jan n/r)

Oooh, dont know if i can, not many, if any, pleasures left.
rather have cream as i like strong but milky tea and cutting down on milk has been hard enough.
I have cream in coffee no prob tho0 -
marri lou u should be aiming to eat approximately three loosely packed cups of salad, or two cups of salad plus one cup of other vegetables with 3oz of cheese, try and cut it down to those levels if u can
i dont drink tea but love cream in my coffee so milk is no problem to me... try watering down cream with water for milk?
mazzers every time u give into the urge to have something sweet u make it harder for yrself cos u have to go thru the withdrawal again

It's nice with some spring onions chopped into it if you find it a bit bland.I'll see if I can get to somewhere that isn't Tesco, see what they've got.
Edit: By the way everyone, cream in tea sounds sickly but it's actually really nice, although I do like my tea (and coffee) really milky.0 -
