Shelby & Mazzers... are you taking your supplements and drinking enough water? I admit my thighs are a bit sore but I know it is because of the Davina DVD squatasticness!

We all have our ups and downs. I just know I have more emotional ups and more weight downs! :T

TBH i'm a bit scared of supplements as last Aug was rushed to A&E with heart scare due to BP meds depleting my pottassium (was a diuretic) changed them now but have slight heart damage.
am drinking well over a litre of water plus tea and coffee but know i should drink more but work days drink loads as get thirsty, 3 days a week.

Yes, I would. Mazzers... how happy does that glass of wine really make you feel? Does it make you feel happier than seeing a 4, 5, 6, half stone weight loss on the scales? If it does then have it but seriously if you were honest you couldn't say the "little treats" are worth the tiredness, weight gain and general disgruntlement!

I feel like I am a bit horrid sometimes thinking "why do they do it"? You body knows what it is having put into it. To sit and try "convince" yourself it is only a little this or a little that is a waste of time and effort. I am an all or nothing girl and either do it or don't do it because it is like wiggling a tooth and all the associated pain or the thread and door handle... I am a thread and door handle type. Don't like the pain or prolonging the agony. I think before I eat ANYTHING and I mean even the carb count of my vitamins! I think what it is worth or is going to cost me in effects (weight loss and feelings of tiredness/energy levels etc)

I am not telling you off. Please do NOT think that. I am trying to explain my "recipe" for a successful mindset ;) We are not all the same but really the change is challenging but worth it if you commit to it. Playing at it is not worth it.

mercy u actually have had carbs cos meat, leeks etc all have them in or did u mean u didnt have any HIGH carbs?

    Hiya

Glad to hear things got sorted out, I'd've needed the whisky too.

I know mushies and leeks have carbs, didn't have the leeks in the end though. Can't find carbs in meat, do you have a list you use and link for it? I've checked my lists and chicken and pork are listed as 0 carb with some small amount in beef. There were no sauces involved :)

I definitely didn't have any high carbs though (except the cider) :) Glad we could get market takeaway as all that was on offer in the pub was depressing :)

I usually have much more veg and cheese in a day so tried to offset where I could. Been staying off the nuts too, lately.

Felt really slim all day, keep fastening my belt on the next tightest hole by accident. Then have to put it back when I sit down :rotfl: Still, getting there:)

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

Have you spoken to your doctor? Some are more open to the low carb way and you probably need to reassess.

LC IS good but you need monitoring. Regular blood testing... not because of Low carb but diuretics just by their very mechanism have to be monitored. They also incidentally an effect on your weight loss and kidneys.

You also need to seriously read, read, read about it all and the physiology behind it.

I'm now offski because sometimes my concern can come across as bossy bootsitis and I don't want anyone to get me wrong and get into any argee bargee's! :rotfl:

You are a tough task master:rotfl:
I wish i had your attitude tho
but as i haven't lost am disheartened.
I dont intend to never have the odd treat tho as i really enjoy a glass of wine.

Will try and be good tomorrow, have already said i dont want to go for lunch but will go with the flow, as they are not watching their weight want them to be happy too. will try and choose wisely but we'll see.
If the scales were down today i'd have had more resolve but to be strict all week and not lose is awful, when i lost 3lb odd the first week i was elated and thats what kept me strong this week but as i said not losing is disheartening.

kissit thats exactly the attitude i had when i was trying to lose 8stone.. NOTHING to me was worth gettint rid of that weight and NOTHING is worth me gaining it back, hence being my own hardest taskmaster

mazzers umm tomorrow IS monday hun lol... yes u will have to go back to induction sorry, have u tried mixing half cream/water in your tea instead of milk??

mercy u are right about the meat being zero carb but cheese, veg, cider <cough> all have carbs.... if in any doubt enter your food into fitday.com and it will tell u how many u are eating

ok my tenpenny worth (or moan depending on how u look at it).. .there are so many things we can use as an excuse for going off plan but at the end of the day it is just that an excuse, if u want to lose u have to stick to it to the LETTER and not let ANYTHING derail u, no excuses, no whinging sorry

ok will join kissit in the bossy corner lol

Dont be daft, any bossy-ness is well meant and well recieved. on here anyway:rotfl:
The meds i'm on now are not diuretics, but i read they can increase pottasium so dont know if i really need it, i have low pottasium anyway but doc wouldn't give supplement as too much as bad as too little, hence the fear of supplementation.
Will prob get some vitamins and minerals but is hard to know where to stop as if you read the label we need 'em all:rolleyes:
