ened up having far too much jim bean last night as my ex managed to 'lose' my son in a village 5miles away.. but apparently 'i wasnt to worry' despite it being dark and he hadnt seen him for 2 hrs  ... MEN!!!!!!!
aah well hopefully it wont have done too much damage
x
OMG i'd have been like a crazy woman, thank god he's ok, i presume so anyway.
Am gutted, not lost this week, cant imagine how those that have put on feel.
from what i remember last time, I dont think i'm eating enough, cos i ate loads before, also didnt count cheese or cream had lots of tea and coffee and ate quite a lot of onions peppers tomatoes etc, was cooking nice meals as i had a partner and the kids then, mostly its me and my son now but as he's 17 doesn't eat with me much.
I cant give up on it tho as really its not about losing eight as much as
avoiding diabetes as i have insulin resistance and my father had late onset diabetes.
I also think that TOM has big effect on me as middle month i usually get really bloated so really wont get true loss for 28 days.
Even poured myself a glass of wine with friend last night but is untouched on coffee table (thats how good i've been) am having couple glasses today tho.
I'm very happy tho that my tummy gone down a lot, so not as bloated as usual.0 -
1. The Atkins Diet has been shown by a number of documentaries and research, to just be 'a low calorie diet', like most others. Meat and dairy products are much more 'filling' than other forms of food. Therefore you may be eating food with a higher-fat content, but your more full throughout the day, and therefore snack less. But, unlike traditional 'salad' diets, your not getting enough vital vitamins and minerals (taking vitamin tablets won't cut it, as most get urinated out).2. What you eat doesn't appear to make you fatter quickly,,,,snip,,,,3. It actually takes calories and therefore energy to eat food!..SNIP,,,Annoying isn't it! Most people who are skinny, tend to eat small amounts of food through-out the day. Little and often is the key.My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Hello Andy spoo there are lots of opinions on low carb diets but i have found its the only diet that works and the weight stays off , You feel very heathy to ,Not bloated and have loads of energy ,low carbing cuts out most of the crap that the multi billion pound diet industry would like us to buy !! Have a look at Teds threads he explains it very well ,I just know it works and get very very fed up with trying to explain why .Its up to you if you want to try it one life live it how you want to .0

Apart from vitamin d, which has to come from full body sun exposure (or an effective strength supplement) an atkins style diet provides all the vitamins and minerals your body requires. The way of eating I follow allows plenty of above ground vegetables and the idea that it is basically a calorie reduced diet is utter nonsense. If you saw what I eat daily and still maintain my target weight you would know how utterly ludicrous that idea is. It is simply laughable that people still say that and incredible that others believe it.
Go listen to Gary Taubes and learn how raised insulin levels oblige your body to store fat Or watch the movie clips for FATHEAD
No one here is suggesting you starve yourself. Most people who have been on a semi-starvation diet find that on a low carb high fat diet they lose more weight by eating more fat rather than less. When your body gets into starvation mode behaves differently. That's why it's important if you want to lose weight to eat regularly and just use Intermittent fasting occasionally.
Naturally we would as hunter gatherer's had to stuff ourselves when we made a kill. We would have been powerful enough to keep off other predators and vultures after our prey but having made a kill we would have disposed of it fairly quickly. The idea that we should eat constantly through the day doesn't fit with evolution. When you've tried a low carb diet for sufficient long for your digestion to have acclimatised to the new regime you will find your need to snack diminishes.0 -

Hi Andy, I'm sure someone on here will work out the daily average calorie count and Ted will prob give you a good answer but on atkins we are eating salad and veg, I have a large salad every day and fresh veg, certain fruit and after two weeks the carb content can be raised slightly then when at goal weight can be raised to your own personal level.
But it is interesting reading and thanks for the input.0 -

Good to you, they werent bloody good to you, you paid for their advice, you only lost weight because of your own willpower not theirs. What a disgusting greedy attitude
Have they forgotten about the joining and weekly fees you paid then.0 -
I've just jumped into this thread after reading the header and a few messages, so sorry if this is a bit random but:-

Your thought please :-)

He says indeed that protein foods are more fulfilling and that is one of the resons the "diet" is so sucessfull. Re the vitamins he stresses that to take his recommended vitanutrients are a must. Anyone doing Atkins does need to read the book for those very reasons. However-contrary to press clippings here and there he also says that you must not eat unreasonable amounts so you should not "pig out" on dairy. He gives many good examples of a balanced Atkins meal. He also says that exercise is "non-negotiable" which is why Ive just joined the gym.
In essence I dont think what you are saying is incorrect in many aspects but it is taken out of context in describing Atkins without reading his book from cover to cover.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Well I have just finished my 2nd week of induction and only lost a 1lb this week but I am happy its still a pound in the right direction. Only thing I'm worried about is I'm still really tired and have really tired heavy legs, does anyone know how long this will last as I know its to be expected but thought I would have come through it by now?Started Atkins 22/02/09 - total weightloss 11lbs:j0
