Hi all, feel like i've not been good today as am bloated and a bit windy, sorry to lower the tone but it seems to be a good indication.
Had some celeriac mash as thought it was low but not as low as i thought and prob that is the culprit.
Also had an avilite lolly (like you get in chemists) and one square of that 85% choc i bought, is huge chunk but only 2.7 (of sugar) per chunk, is quite a gob full but feels like you've had loads by the time its melted away, i know i shouldn't have but middle of the month is my most difficult time.
It doesn't seem too bad but i feel like it seems really bad.
I dont know if having a drop of milk in tea is gonna stall me as i used to have cream when i last did atkins but find it very sickly. Time will tell i spose.

    Well no1, I can't stand celeriac! Let's blame that!!!!!!

Actually the chillis will take effect at some point soon so look forward to a little more wind :)

The lolly too will contribute. Hope you've nothing important on early tomorrow :)

The 85% choc is the least of your worries. Have it, enjoy it, end of.

'A drop' of milk cannot deflect you too far, if it IS just a drop, stop beating yourself up honey, you're doin ok!

    Big love

Noot lost any more weight but not disheartened as Ive measured myself and have lost 2 inches on bust and waist and one inch on hips. Thats good for my proportions-especialy the waist.

    .

Interestingly enough I always lose on my waist n hips but gain on my boobs following low carb. Glad about that as now I actually fill BOTH cups of a 36A! Imagine my glee! Never had any before and I'm 40 :)

Had to buy a bra! Yipeeeee! Think it's the fat content of the diet boosting me :)

Love this stuff :) Will never be a carb eater again.

    Yes, it can.

Your body will go into starvation mode if you don't eat enough to keep it going. It will then cling to every calorie and every fat cell it can get hold of in case you stop eating completely.

I know that is perceived opinion but, if so, why do people (successfully) do IF? Also, people who don't eat enough lose weight. Isn't that the case? I've heard of this 'starvation mode' but everyone I've known who has issues (of any kind) that stop them from eating enough loses dramatic amounts of weight.

Horrible, horrible evening for me. Pigeon terribly injured by one of our cats, and had to be killed to save it from suffering further. I didn't even have the courage to do it. DD had to. Sorry, Badger. Have felt sick for hours.

Sorry about the bird. I've had my Sherlock bring in birds and it's too painful and wrenching. It actually hurts.

On the weight thing, sometimes I've found that not eating much for emotional issues have seen very dramatic weight losses. I think in those cases the mind and nerves are using up more. Adrenalin? Increase in metabolism for upset reasons? Sorrow? All of these have seen me stick thin. In a way I'm glad I have weight issues, the alternative really isn't worth it.

    IF - I really don't know.

I don't think it's even to do with emotional issues. I've seen people whose husbands have left them or who have stopped eating properly for a number of reasons. Yet I believe that if you don't eat enough, you lose weight, end of story; emotional issues or not. I'm not convinced about 'starvation mode' at all.

I would have thought husbands leaving would be emotional? Even if that feeling was elation. I felt that when I got rid of mine, elation. Went really skinny and it took 3 years to regain weight lost. (I was dead happy though:))

I know a bloke at work who really isn't eating enough to keep himself going from day to day. He can't lose weight. he's 20 stone and only 5'6. He's trying to starve himself and it isn't working. I may not be getting all the story there, I grant you :)

I don't know, but if I don't eat much when I have no issues nothing really changes.

    Aaw, poor thing.

I def did go into starvation mode and not lose but after about seven weeks the weight fell off me, so you are bound to lose eventually, and i also think it applies more to people who yo yo diet as opposed to never having dieted.
Thats my little theory for what its worth:rotfl:

But when i broke up with my partner i lost three stone in eight weeks.
oh i dont know its so confusing

In danger of being thick here, what's vlcd?

Did you regain the weight lost when you got better? When ever I've lost a lot by not eating for emotional reasons it hasn't come back for ages. Wondering if it is similar.

Yes, of course. I didn't mean to imply that husband leaving etc would not be emotional. Quite the reverse.

I just think, for what it's worth , and in my experience, that 'starvation mode' is a myth: that if you don't eat enough, you will lose weight.

Mercy, VLCD is Very Low Calorie Diet. And I'm with you on your 20-stone friend. I'll lock him in my spare bedroom and feed him either 1500 cals per day or a LC diet, and we'll see if he can't lose weight...
