Ditto, but start at 9am. Wish I was one of those people who bounce outta bed wide awake! Flipping frosty outside but at least it's bright.

Oh Philip, I can't offer any advice but just reassurance that I did the same thing! Found the "eating list" really unnatural but persisted and put on weight. Since then, I've reverted back to my normal diet and lost it again.

When you say "unsuccessful low carbing on my own", what were you doing and what was happening?

Really sorry to hear this, I know how frustrating it can be.:(
I really had to cut back on the dairy products as they really stalled me:rolleyes:
I'm doing atkins and I think IDP is very similar to Atkins in the first couple of weeks.
List your daily menus (and keep a food diary yourself) and we can all have a look at it to see if there is anything obviously:)
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

Oops, that reminds me, I forgot to post yesterday's menu:
    - Wheatbran porridge and plain soya yoghurt
    - Almond cake (to comfort myself after walking out of work), Guinness.
    - Packet of sugarfree sweets (damn those Polyols!)
    - Granose nut roast with boursin topping and spinach with hemp oil (yes I can make my own nut roast, but the family size ones were 40p each from Approved Foods!). Green tea.

Not a brilliant day carb-wise but it felt necessary at the time

Hi, I agree it's costing me a fortune - but I hope it's worth it! I am doing the Idiot Proof diet and I started out by buying the vitamins and supplements that was nearly £30!! My fridge is full of meat, cheese and green veg and there are no cheap evening meals of jacket potatoes or pasta and sauce. I am now on day 5 not going to weigh myself till day 7, if I haven't lost weight I am going to sit down and cry!

Hi Di - I'm on day 3 and will definitely wait until day 7 for my 1st weight check. I'm quite enjoying the meals ... just had scrambled eggs with bacon, mushrooms and cheese for breakfast. Lovely! But like you say it'll be devastating if after all the cost and effort I doesn't lose any weight.

jude i dont do IPD but did u follow it exactly to the letter? do u havea lot tolose? did u lose inches instead of pounds??

if its not any of the above maybe u need to consider atkins induction instead, yes its stricter but maybe u need that to kickstart the loss?

dont rely on the ketostix some people never send them pink even tho they are losing

I had a go with the ketostix today and its pale pink, so that means a bit of ketosis, right??
What should I be aiming for? shall I reduce dairy to get it darker or does it not matter?
I've also been mega thirsty the whole week, drinking at least a pint of water every hour, maybe more. Is this too much? seriously couldn't drink less without my tongue shrivelling up!!
I also seem to be winning the halitosis competition with the dog, my teeth are gleaming though from cleaning them 73million times a day!
I lost 3 lb from thursday to monday, but won't weigh again until next monday, thats been my wi day for weightwatchers for many years......

Dog poo I can cope with - it's cat poo and wee, and vomit from any source, that make me heave.
