Low Carb Diet (atkins)

Hi, I agree it's costing me a fortune - but I hope it's worth it! I am doing the Idiot Proof diet and I started out by buying the vitamins and supplements that was nearly £30!! My fridge is full of meat, cheese and green veg and there are no cheap evening meals of jacket potatoes or pasta and sauce. I am now on day 5 not going to weigh myself till day 7, if I haven't lost weight I am going to sit down and cry!
I've been doing the IPD for over a year, and take the supplements religiously. I buy from healthydirect (mostly) with voucher codes and quidco it's fairly cheap.
I definitely know if I haven't taken then!
As the book says, it's idiotproof because if you follow it to the letter you will lose weight.
I lost 5lbs during week 1 (and I'm veggie) - OH lost 8lbs. Keep with it - you're doing great!0 -

I don't want to compromise my induction period, so I'll switch to decaff coffee and green tea, and then reintroduce later. I understand the side effects of caffeine withdrawal, so I'll cut down over the next 3 days, and if necessary, I'll extend my induction period to account for the 'caffeine' days!
Thanks everyone - you're :As!
Well the Atkins book says that caffeine can mimick sugar in a way and that is the bloodsuger part. Atkins says only to have decaf. I find Im still ok with caffeine but maybe Id be be better off without it! Get some decent decaf!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

I have mixed a jar of coffee with a decaf one and find this not to bad and will gradually get down to straight decaf.
I must still be having too many carbs as the ketostix are only showing the darkest pink, but at least its going in the right direction!!0 -
jumpingjackd, don't worry too much about Ketostix. Loads of people on here don't use them at all. I do use them sometimes, and I'm rarely more than a light pink and I still lose (think Ted has said a similar thing too).0
