morning everyone
Its a bit of a wet one here so I hope its better wherever you are
Yesterday was a strange day as I seemed to not eat a lot but wasnt particularly hungry.I've got some sausages and bacon cooking in the oven so I bet you cant guess whats for brekkie here
Ted I think I would starve without the eggs I eat as they are the ultimate quickie meal for me when I cant be bothered to cook anything more complicated
I've read quite a bit about Kefir but as someone compared it to drinking baby sick it rather put me off it
Well hope today is a good one for everyone
Oh just remembered I nipped into my local Asda last night to check for decaff earl grey and they dont stock it.I've been losing weight despite supping normal tea so I dont see the harm in continuing. Thanks for the tip though

Dr Davis has an interesting blog this morning pointing up the benefits to the heart of higher omega 3 intake.
ERA JUMP: Omega-3 fatty acids and plaque
the greater the omega-3 blood level, the less plaque by either measure was detected.
You may recall I mentioned a study earlier in this thread showing 1.5g of omega 3 daily improved satiety and made you less likely to snack. Well this is another reason to nip down to Holland and Barrett and snap up a pot of these.

Morning my lovlies
I was bad last night. The evening started off ok, I went to M&S as planned, and inspired by Lesley's idea, bought some lovely chilli and coriander prawns (half price!) to go with the other half of my avocado. Then when I got home I just went off the idea of dinner altogether and ended up picking at some cheese and some salami..... but then I had two chocolate truffles:o:o..... and then I had a mini twister ice lolly:o:o:o I think it was just because I was feeling a bit fed up:rolleyes:
But I'll be good today though, I promise! And I've got a wedding to go to tomorrow, so I better buck my ideas up lol
So salad for lunch today with some thin slices of pork and dinner tonight... ahem... prawns and avocado!:D
Much love to all,

I'm at the same weight still....i.e. gained one this week (since my Monday official weigh in). I'm being good but maybe I'm just eating too much. I don't know whether I'm spost to treat this like a strict diet and try not to eat or eat when I want to.
Toilet issues are still not really resolved....but a bit better. I'm taking 2 pysillium capsules and having one g-g crispbread as breakfast (with cheese/butter). It's not a major worry.
I think I am keeping my carbs to around 20g a day. I don't strictly count but I sort of do it in my head. Yesterday I had bit of salad with lunch. And some pak choi and a whole leek with my evening meal.
I don't really want to wee on a stick but maybe I should get a ketostix?
Good Luck to you allGirls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -
Gilly badger - dont know if this is true but i heard that Boots will only sell you ketostix if you are type 2 diabetic (or if you say that you are lol). I got my ketostix from superdrug and they didn't ask me anything about diabetes. Think it was between £4 or £5 for 50 single-use sticks. IMO - they are useful as a guide to ketosis, but same with weighing scales, not good to get too obssessive about using them.
Re eating - I think the idea is to strike a balance so that you eat enough to feel full - not eating loads but also not eating insufficient so you keep feeling hungry... It does need a bit of trial and error I think, coz everyone's different - if that helps at all x
Hopefully the psyllium and the water you're drinking will get you 'moving' in the right direction soon
Have a good day.

Ketostix Ebay £3.98 + Postage costs:£1.95
Chemist direct are £4 +£2.51P&P
So you don't need to be paying more than £6.
You can wee in a container and then dab the end in. Doing it midflow may cause problems if your as daft as I am and try to extract the stick from the pack singlehanded.
(I dropped the whole pack you know where and once they've landed in the water they are not much use any more fortunately I was near the end of the pack.) I haven't bothered to get another pack as using Dr D's plan I never got more than a trace to show so was never likely to be anywhere near the middle or upper ranges. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

lol ted.. sorry i shouldnt laff but i could just imagine the scenario
ketostix cut them in half so they go further.. i dont use them anymore but i did at first... other ways to tell is dark smelly wee (sorry no nice way to say that),, sometimes bad breath,. reduction in appetite
u should eat if u are hungry but make sure u stay in your 20g carbs (for atkins)... gillette maybe u should count up and see if u are going way over if u are having lrge quantities, obviously its not a licence to pig out but dont let yrself get hungry
saz tut tut ... get back to it today
i am still feeling uggy from the atkins flu, but it does show me how far off i wandered so i am baring it in a martyrish (is that a word) wayWhen you know better you do better0 -

I've got the mother of all headaches.I'm putting it down to the weather being so close and the kids so noisy but I suppose it could be carb crash but I doubt it.I'm not even slightly tempted to try the ketostix as I spent too much time weeing on sticks when I was trying for a baby:rotfl:
I'm going to skip tea tonight as my headache is making me feel sick.I know I shouldnt but cant face food.Hubby is having chicken filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon with mixed veg
The kids had chips for tea and I wasnt even tempted to nibble.I'm so proud of myself:D
