No worries hun x My grains have been sitting in water in the fridge for while, but don't imagine it would take long to revive them.

You can grow kefit grains is lots of different ways. This Ginger beer recipe sounds quite nice though I must admit I've only make milk kefir myself.

No, not too much longer... clock-watching isn't helping tbh, but i'll be out of here soon as it's 6...

True story, this: i took a pic of my kefir grains (me brimming with maternal pride lol) and sent it to my friend the other day and "Yuck!" was his reaction lol. I think he thought I was one oopsie short of a lo-carb picnic!! :rotfl:Which in fact, I am, but you know what i mean:o - he needs to read this so he knows it's not just me!:D

    Hi Daisy :)

I'm probably not the best person to ask re eggs coz I'm a bit funny about them lol. I don't mind them as an ingredient in something when they aren't too noticeable, but have never liked them on their own - fried, boiled, etc...:o

Well, it's past six so I'm gonna make tracks. I'll stop in at M&S on the way home and see if that inspires me.

    See you later

You will see from Dietary cholesterol from eggs increases plasma HDL cholesterol in overweight men consuming a carbohydrate-restricted diet. They were doing 3 eggs per day

These results suggest that including eggs in a CRD results in increased HDL-C while decreasing the risk factors associated with MetS.

Eggs modulate the inflammatory response to carbohydrate restricted diets in overweight men.

These findings indicate that eggs make a significant contribution to the anti-inflammatory effects of CRD, possibly due to the presence of cholesterol, which increases HDL-C and to the antioxidant lutein which modulates certain inflammatory responses.

Our hens having sulked for the last month have now started producing in earnest so I'll certainly be increasing my daily egg total intake. Hardboiled to add to my salad tomorrow.

Thanks Ted-H for another great link. I too was worrying about eating a lot of eggs. Had my cholesterol tested in lloyds chemist when I started this diet and it came out 4.7 so thats fine they said. Will have it checked as I lose each stone.
