well I sneaked a peek on the scales this morning and I'm back to my preholiday weight so chuffed about that.It must have been fluid like I thought from the booze

Bacon,Eggs and mushrooms for brekkie this morning with ham and soft cheese rolls for lunch and chicken with hm coleslaw for tea plus loads of fluid so I've been a good girl again its getting easier this eating plan the longer I'm on it

Hubby has joined in now but is finding it hard having coffee without sugar but he'll get there if he wants it enough

Sazbo what about some prawns and mayo with that avocado?

Ted you are one determined guy as I couldnt drink tea with oil added :o .The question is does it work though?

If it cools down tomorrow I want to make some oopsies and a cauli pizza

Well done on getting back to your pre-holiday weight - no serious harm done:)

Ah, prawns - now that's a good idea. Could buy some on the way home, or I could open a tin of tuna or salmon...

Right I've been putting this off, but I better make tracks for home and have a sauna on the underground:rolleyes: LOL the builder just rang me to say "Don't be alarmed when you get home to find your living room looks like a bathroom" - they've stored the new bath etc in there ahead of installing them tomorrow. I tell you what, it's a good job i have a sense of humour isn't?!!

    See you all later,

but could you drink coffee with cream?
Some people find Green Tea a little harsh on the palate and I think the addition of coconut oil mellows the green tea taste and gives it more body. Bit like the difference between black tea and tea with milk in it. I think a lot of people would prefer it.

Coconut oil is a medium chain tryglyceride MCT and you can read more about MCT diets here but these involve using MCT oil to provide 30-60% of calories and I'm just using 2-3 teaspoons daily (120 calories out of about 2400calories approx) maybe another tsp in my breakfast fryup so don't get the idea that I'm doing an MCT diet, I'm just using the MCT's in coconut oil to gee up the generation of a trace of ketones, no more.
The question is does it work though?
I started doing this just to see if the tip to take a teaspoon of coconut oil 60-30mins before a meal actually reduced my appetite and reduced the temptation to eat before the meal was cooked and reduce the amount I actually ate at the meal. As I always empty my plate at a meal it's difficult to judge on the quantity side but I certainly haven't grazed the ingredients while cooking a meal and I feel fuller after my meal and have cut down on snacking on nuts from the larder or cheese from the fridge so I'm sure it is helping.

Reading about the way MCT oil /carbohydrate is metabolized reminded me of a post in another forum considering the metabolic advantage that low carb eating provides.

If we think about fueling a car and gave one person a gallon of unleaded and another a gallon of crude oil both may have a similar number of calories but the guy with the crude would have to spend time and energy refining the crude to a usable form and thus would not get the same performance from his vehicle.

In the same way given carbs or fat our bodies prefer to burn the unleaded (glucose) because it's easier and more efficient (it doesn't need further refining) lowering carbohydrate intake forces the body to use fat for fuel rather than storing it. It's a slower steadier process and less efficient so although fat may contain more calories than carbs, they are harder to use efficiently.

Compared with £1.15litre unleaded I don't get as much mileage from a litre of LPG (but at 60p a litre I'm not grumbling)

You Won't Believe it's Cauliflower Pizza Crust
as you see the cauliflower is first riced then steamed and forms the pizza base. You can do your own toppings.

i have also made a base from eggs, cream and cheese, whisked together and cooked for 15mins or so then topped with pizza stuff, prefer the cauli one tho

I wore the trousers and one of the tops today and DH reckons he is now scared to comment on anything!!!!;)

The trousers felt a little tight when I tried them on in the shop but it was a boiling hot day. They felt much more comfortable today. Even a bit loose!:j

DH had a meeting In Whitby so DD(14) and I cadged a lift. Feeling very proud of myself because while DD and DH tucked into fish and chips each I asked for a crab salad which came with boiled potato and chips - I asked for just the crab salad- no potato or chips.

DH could not believe it but it was delicious!!!!

Have not eaten since 2 o'clock so will have a look in the fridge and might have cold meat or seafood with a little salad or a couple of cherry tomatoes.

I have been reading the Atkins book and wondering if I should try the induction but as it is meant to wean people away from sugar and carbs and I have already been doing that for about 16 days now then I might just do the next phase of Atkins and see how that goes.

Hello to Daisy and sagaris and I bet the wedding dress is a real motivation.

It does feel very strange that I am almost having to remind myself to eat ! That is really not like me.

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica, sans-serif]Just to keep you enthusiastic the full text of this paper is online.

In this study, premenopausal overweight and obese women assigned to follow the Atkins diet, which had the lowest carbohydrate intake, lost more weight and experienced more favorable overall metabolic effects at 12 months than women assigned to follow the Zone, Ornish, or LEARN diets. While questions remain about long-term effects and mechanisms, a low-carbohydrate, high-protein, high-fat diet may be considered a feasible alternative recommendation for weight loss.
