as tinkerbelle says u should read the book, it explains why and how things work and what u should be eating
if u are doing atkins induction then u can have 2 cups of salad and 1 cup of more salad or veg from the allowable list... no jelly for first 2 weeks
yes u can make coleslaw yrself but do not use too much onion as its fairly high in carbs, better to use spring onions or leeks in recipes than onion.....u can have decaff tea or coffee with cream or fruit and green teas, dont use milk tho
these answers are on the basis u are doing aktins induction
Yes, is the atkins. I admit i havent read the book, but have downloaded loads of info on the web. I thought that carbs were sugar. I think i have this all wrong now.0 -
Morning all
We've been away all weekend camping and I have to admit to putting 4lbs but semi in defence it was the vodka and not the food that did the damage.I am now firmly back in the zone and as we dont go camping again until September I'll be a good girl until then
Came home to a bit of a crisis as my fridge conked out whilst I was away so then contents have had to be binned and I'll have to nip to Asda for supplies otherwise its eggs and frozen meat forever
Angiebaby what are the letters for after your meals you ate yesterday?

sweet things that are sugar free are technically carb free (or low carb) BUT the artificial sweeteners they use affect our bodies differently (we can't break them down properly). so they can have a negative impact on weightloss.
get hold of a book and spend a week or so digesting it - it's really really important you know what you are doing from day one.
you can always carry on this week reducing carbs, but please don't try a DIY diet plan.0 -
its much more complicated that just carbs being sugar and i wont go into all the science of it.. i am sure ted will have a good link somewhere to explain it
i have to say when i started i just had a carb counter book that had the basic rules in as well (which i bought whilst i was in american cos atkins was a no no here) I stuck to 20carbs a day and listed it on fitday religiously, i printed off a small card which showed what was allowable veg etc (still have it somewhere if u want me to email it to u) took that and the small book everywhere with me and didnt stray AT ALL from that list
after a couple weeks i finally found a copy of the book and read it cover to cover and it was a revelation, especially as by then i could see it was workingWhen you know better you do better0 -
