davinc syrups bit like those ones u get in coffee shops but sugar free,,, they do loads of different flavours, i use them in anything i make instead of sweetners like splenda

take a look at lowcarbmegastore and u will see what i mean.....oooh the banana one in cream cheese is scrummy expecially with a spoon ful of sugar free peanut butter mixed in and the caramel one is the best for lowcarb baileys making

I think times are changing from a few years back, if you mentioned Atkins people thought you were on a fad diet and you were harming yourself!

i just would like to add a warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i did atkins a couple of years ago
and yes i agree the weight drops off (which is what we all want)

    BUT

After being on Atkins for six months i started to be really ill.
After being rushed to hospital at 3am with a suspected heart attack (at30yrs old), it was then revealed i actually had gallstones (very painful) and that this can be a side effect of being on a high fat diet such as Atkins.

I just want you to be aware there is a risk to your health following the atkins diet.

i have had gallstones as well and if u read certain sections of the media u will see that they say its the result of being on a lowfat diet and yr gallbladder not getting enough fat to flush it thru

basically with gallstones u are either predisposed towards them or not, some indicators are fat, fair, forty and female,... also a history of IBS, diverticulities or hiatus hernias in yr family also indicates

sorry u had them, i sympathise with u its bl**dy painful isnt it?? had my gallbladder out last year cos of them and boy do i feel better

I've had gallstones too and like sassybooboos was very young for the condition. It was however many many years ago (nearly 20 now) and long long before I had ever heard of Atkins, and at a time when my diet was relatively healthy as I was living in student halls and eating most of my meals in their canteen which worked hard to prepare balanced meals.

I think it is true as Shykins says that you are either predisposed to them or you aren't, and unless there are widespread studies implicating Atkins with gallstones (which there may be, but sassybooboos hasn't cited them) I don't think you can draw any conclusions from one person's experiences.

Have used Machiavellian guile and got my own back.

We were going out this afternoon to look for a new t.v. and I talked him into a much better spec then we had planned!!!!

    Heh heh heh!

    It was a bargain, honestly.

My DD(19) was admiring my skirt so I told her the same thing I told DH, her reply was "Well Done Mum I am so proud of you!"

I told her what DH said and she was shocked- he had the grace to look a bit sheepish!!!;)

Have been so cross I have not eaten since low carb brekkie so going out to get veg and salad to go with stuff in freezer for later.

    Thanks for the support!:A
