Are they allowed? How many carbs do they have? I love macademias.....:p
I've had em a few years ago and just remember them reminding me of no taste and a vaseline smell  Maybe it would be different now as I've been low carbing.
They're supposed to be nice in low carb choc brownies

Sooo who can I pester when I start - which will be Monday cos am having a carb blow-out on Sunday. Shy - seeing as you have been doing Atkins for so long do you mind me pestering you as a starting point to check everything?
Hope everyone else's plans are going well - be prepared for questions folks
Hi moonrose, just wanted to say you dont have to 'pester' anyone,
I'm sure you'll get lots of answers if you pose a question, everyone is so helpful on here, and even the experts sometimes
ask each other questions:rotfl:
And most people have a helpful tip or two :beer:0 -

I just know they are mega low and yes they are allowed. I love them because there is a lot of bite to them. Just checked... there is 2.8 grams of carbs in the salted 60g pack I buy in Sainsburys. They are expensive but I find they fit in my lunch box.
Really hit the spot and replace crisps beautifully for me. :T0 -
good for you if you believe atkins is working for you, but restricting essential carbs is not good for an active lifestyle.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
No sugar listed on G&B choc - just 19g total carbs per 100g.
I checked out the green and blacks website in the interim (before you answered)... raw cane sugarTo be fair if it keeps you ON the plan rather than blowing out all together that's cool but I know I can't kid my body. It knows sugar and doesn't care if it is a crusty bloomer or chocolate. I can kid myself in my head but it doesn't work when it hits my tummy :rotfl:
Atkins suits my gluttony! I eat loads... but only of the "allowed" foods. I never feel hard done by!
Moonrose... The first 2 weeks of induction are the most tricky and it would be a good idea to be very strict. NOTHING other than what is on the induction list.
This period is kind of a detox and you also lose tonnes of weight! It really is worth it! Imagine how you are going to feel when despite stuffing your gob with beef, chicken, eggs, green veggies, zero carb burgers, oopsie rolls(if you can get then to work... I can't) and loads of other stuff, you stand on the scales and you have lost more weight than you EVER have before. That will be your prize for committing yourself to it for only 2 weeks, 14 days! For me I was hooked at that point! I am an Atkins Addict!
Absolutely imperative is get the vitamins & drink loads of water!
Good luck!!!! Enjoy!!!!0 -

:rotfl: Thanks for dropping by... may I suggest a read through this thread with specific reference to Ted's highly informative posts and perhaps try attacking Gary Taubes book (not physically... just attempt reading it, it is not the easiest to tackle and try to do without your mouth open at the shocking institutional misinformation of the public)
You won't get too many people round here agreeing with you... but we are a great, healthy bunch despite our food choice so feel free to hang around and hear first hand!0 -
Thank you so much Mercy for listing the recipies and for noting it in your siggy, you are an :A, I've been looking through the thread for ideas as I know that low carb is the only way I loose weight.
I am diabetic and I did a little 'experiment' over three days, as controlled as it could be. I checked my blood sugar on waking (after fasting all night) and then ate 30g carbs and no sugar breakfast. I then checked my blood sugar at 1 hr and 2 hrs after eating.
I did the same the next day with a meal of 30g sugar and found my blood sugar post eating rose by the same level as the day before.
The third day I ate a carb/sugar free meal and my blood sugar did not rise and stayed at my fasting level.
While I appreciate essential vits and mins might be missed by cutting out the carbs I'm sure a good multivit can combat most of that issue and the forthcomming lower weight will be better for my health than keeping my current weight with a balanced diet.
Thanks again Mercy :T0 -

You could easily say the same for restricting essential fats, yet people recommend it all the timeMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

First watch all of FATHEAT
Then consider human evolution and the start of farming. For hundreds of thousands of years our bodies evolved without access to carbohydrates.
It was only after we started farming and increased our carb intake we became shorter fatter and weaker.
Now how healthy does this Swedish triathlon world champion Jonas Colting eats low-carb look now he no longer consumes a high carb intake?

newish when u say no carbs what are u eating?? if u arent eating veg etc then dont keep it up too long it cant be good for u
x
I'm eating well;:D
scrambled egg for breakfast,
coronation chicken with bacon for lunch,
omlette or curried chicken/beef/lamb mixed with egg for tea.
If still hungry (which I'm not) I nibble on crispy bacon.
I would love to loose that last 4lb but not sure how long that will take me on this eating plan. However, even if I loose 2lb a week, its still going to take 2 weeks and I'm not sure if that will be too longIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins0
