Well, guys, as much as I'm now accustomed to Induction, I'm far from impressed by it
I still struggle to do any serious exercise, and I do like to be able to have a good workout occasionally... but worst of all I've lost no weight - the initial 3lbs that dropped off in the first couple of days all mysteriously reappeared by Day 6
Have I really reached a plateau? I was watching that Horizon programme again the other day where the dude said that you can reduce the amount of fat in your fat cells but it's virtually impossible to reduce the number of fat cells, meaning that someone previously overweight will never be skinny... have I reached this situation?
I need some serious boosting weight-loss help nooooooow! Thing is I'm now too "healthy" for things like Lighter Life and Cambridge, technically I only want to lose weight for cosmetic reasons (but I'm really at the very top end of "healthy")Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Badger Lady, I have full sympathy with you as I too have come to a complete stand still.:( I am sticking to Atkins and less than 20 carbs a day and I still have 5lb to loose (since Christmas). Its so frustrating.
I have been so frustrated that I have even started exercising on a regular basis on my cross trainer... something I have never done in my life, but the weight is still not shifting  (off the point a bit, but i too have noticed very painful thighs when exercising. I thought it was just me being so unfit until someone else mentioned they had the same thing).
I am still an avid reader of this thread but have not posted much as I am so annoyed IYKWIM. I ordered some of the protein powder that someone mentioned (it arrived thismorning) and I substituted my lunch with one of those, hoping in vein that it will help me loose:rolleyes: . I'm willing to try anything at the moment;)
On a good note, my DH started Atkins 25 days ago and he has lost 1st 12lb!!:T :T
He has never done a 'proper diet' in his life and doesn't see this as a diet either. He is doing really well and is loving the food (just like I do):D . He had chest pain just before Christmas and when tested, his cholestral level was 7.3:eek: . He's 50 (quite a bit older than me:cool: ). He was told to loose weight the "low fat way" which he tried during January but just couldn't stick to it and didn't loose anything (what a surprise). He's now waiting for an angiogram and he can't wait to show the Drs the weight he has lost;)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins0 -
badger all i can say is i feel for you as i have EXACTLY the same problem, i just cant seem to lose whatever i do...... dont know what program u watched but i understood that fat cells dont ever go once u have them, they do let the fat go but not dont actually go themselves
thing is i KNOW i can weigh less cos i have (albeit i was quite ill) so whats going on now??? i dont know .. i have sorta decided not to weigh cos it jus depresses me so i am goin on the way my clothes feel on me... umm ssorry i am not being much help am i???

I really thought I was going to reach target weight by the time I started my new job! Just half a stone would do it - but now I've got less than 2 weeks
And, er... I think there's something wrong with my poo...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
hmmm.... it's a bit disheartening isn't it? Wish I knew the answer - but if i did I wouldn't be on course for the olympic gold medal in stalling lol:rolleyes:

newish u must of been posting when i was but u reminded me about exercise
the thing is if u step up your exercising u will quite likely gain weight as it turns to muscle but at the same time u can lose inches, so altho i weigh heavier i can still fit into the same clothes,,, this could be happening to both u and badger if u have recently stepped up your exercise
i have on occasion tried meat and eggs for a few days to shift a few pounds but its no fun to be honest ,.. maybe we all need to stop worrying about the scale and worry about how we feel in clothes instead... i know i know easier said then done and i am just as guilty

No, the opposite Shykins! And it's bright green! Reminds me of patients I used to look after who'd been on antibiotics too long and the natural cultures in their tummies had gone out of sync. The answer was Yakult - but I have been eating Live Greek yoghurt, which should be just as good. I don't really understand how my natural cultures can have got messed up without taking antibioticsMortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
