lol sweet yrs is as definitive as mine.. i add a little water to help the leeks soften
That's a good idea, will try that.
Sauteed leeks in butter & black pepper is yummy on it's own too btw (if you don't have cream/cheese).

i used to make a oven baked cheesey leek dish but this one is much quicker and easier... also make leek soup and use them raw in dips and salads, i LOVE leeks hence i am going to try growing them this year lol

  • I used leek instead of onion in my bolognaise last night, as someone suggested, & it was lovely!!
Maybe shouldn't have put the red & yellow peppers in though.:o

Cheers for the leek recipes! Can't wait to try out but maybe tomorrow as still fancy the pancakes tonight :) We shall see. Seem to be 1 day behind

    Heyho!

If the dumplings were to be too sweet they might make an acceptable cobbler topping? Would be nice to have one of those for when the rhubarb starts :j

You DO have control over how you react :)

    Hello lovelies :hello:

Just a quickie sazzy coz busy day at work today:rolleyes: But wanted to say thanks to shykins for posting the pancakes recipe - I know you don't like pancakes yourself hun, but they were absolutely scrummy! What amazed me was - they cooked exactly like normal pancakes and tasted exactly like them too! Who needs flour? Dusted with some cinnamon and splenda and a spritz of lemon - they were fab. Even Gilly wolfed his down:D

Will be good as an occasional quick and easy sweet treat too.

So many thanks for that :T xx

As of today we are really trying to rein in the carbs:rolleyes: Tbh, since the beginning of the year we really haven't cracked down again properly - I could make the excuse of various birthdays and anniversaries getting in the way, but at the end of the day I know that doesn't really wash:o

At work, the milk was starting to creep back into my tea and coffee:rolleyes: so it's back to carting in a small amount of soya milk every day (I just can't stomach it black:rolleyes:) - otherwise it just doesn't keep.

We have quite a lot of salad with our lunch everday so for a while I'm going to keep that as the main green carbs in our day. I think for me, having veg as well in the evening was just slowing the weightloss down far too much. And it's got to the stage now where it's getting me down. So new regime as of today....

If I can just lose one and a half pounds a week between now and May, then I'll be down to 9 stone for my birthday:rolleyes: Doesn't seem so much to ask does it? *sigh....

lol what was that I said about this being a quick post lol! :rotfl:

ok I really am going now!

Much love to all and have a great day everyone

Am watching a film but had to come in to say whoever thought up the flax bread recipe is a bl**dy genius, it makes a fantastic sandwich, for me is as good as wholemeal.. :T Am not letting my little blip deter me so am carrying on with LC, all I need now is a choccy substitute;)
No wonder an early post said thank you thank you thank you, I feel the same

It's a godsend for me too Mazzers. I made it with 100% flaxmeal for ages but then tried shykins suggestion of using half flax and half almond flour and I have to say I do prefer it - has a slightly 'lighter' flavour IYKWIM
