Does anyone have any ideas of what I can have with a homemade low carb chicken curry? Obviously no rice but can anyone think of anything else which works?
    Cheesy leeks?! :rotfl:
Only kidding, I have a bit of a thing for them & they feature heavily in my menus!!
I'm having chicken curry tomorrow & intend having broc/cauli with it. Any other low-carb veg would be nice, green beans etc.
  • Goodness me it's a quiet night on here tonight!! Are you all pancaked out & too ashamed to show your faces?!:rotfl:
I'm off to watch supersize/superskinny - just remembered it's on!! Eek!!
PS. Shykins, we knew you were only kidding about not posting!! You could never do it!! :p

I bought Linusit Premium Organic Ground Flaxseed today. GranoVita UK Ltd, Northants is the manufacturer. The nutritional information on the back it says:- Per 100g

    Protein - 20g
    Carbohydrate - 37g
    of which sugars - 1.05g
    Fat - 34g
    Total Dietary Fibre - 25g

How would you interpret the carb count on this? It seems high for ground flaxseed. Ingredients list says 100% Certified Oraganic Ground Golden Flaxseed.
  • Hi Alms71,
I have a packet of cold-milled flaxseed (Virginia Harvest, product of USA but packaged in Wales) which says
    Protein - 20g
    Carbohydrate - 1g
    of which sugars - trace
    Fat - 41g
    Fibre - 28g
Everything ties in except the carbs. Can they really be that different?
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.
  • guys a quick question if I may
Ive brought some sausages and they have 2 types of cabs listed
    Carbohydrate -
    of which sugars
Which do I count towards my daily total
Im assuming its like fat e.g fat and fat that saturates thanks

Am watching a film but had to come in to say whoever thought up the flax bread recipe is a bl**dy genius, it makes a fantastic sandwich, for me is as good as wholemeal.. :T Am not letting my little blip deter me so am carrying on with LC, all I need now is a choccy substitute;)
No wonder an early post said thank you thank you thank you, I feel the same

go with total carbs, things like pasta may have low sugar values but they are still carbs!
