    Hi, can anyone advise plz.
am still on induction but for future reference i was looking at pasta sauces which are a no no but by chance looked at tesco value pasta sauce and its 2.8g carbs per 100g 1.8 of which sugars, is this ok as i thought anything under 5g per 100g was ok, oh and fibre is 3.9.. thanks in eager anticipation:j

I saw this on this thread earlier. That is indeed correct that at a later stage you can use this. I think it was Tink or Shykins who said so?
guys a quick question if I may
Ive brought some sausages and they have 2 types of carbs listed
    Carbohydrate -
    of which sugars
Which do I count towards my daily total
Im assuming its like fat e.g fat and fat that saturates thanks

Count the whole carbs. When it tells you the sugars its an indicator for you just how "bad " it is in my book.
How about making your own tho with tinned toms and spices? Ive bought the sauce many times but it is a bit like congealed gloop I thought. I prefer a homemade one.

Well Ive been an "angel" today! Firstly I went to the pool and did 44 lenths.
Then I came home and had peppered steak and sprouts(og I weighed them-150g lol)
later I hadsmoked salmon salad and mayo
I resisted the little bag of choc eggs dd waved in my face
I resisted the 2 packs of pancakes I bought for everyone else too
    No sins today
Lent starts tomorrow! My body is my temple!
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

angel well done at living up to your name!!!!

narab....for Uk packets u use the Total carbs as yr carb count for USA packets u deduct the fibre,,, make sure any sausages u use are high meat (usually those in the finest ranges)

alm.....i suspect that the ground flax packet is an american packet hence u would subtract the total fibre from carbs giving u 9g per 100 wich seems much more likely.. as for yours Gaye with only 1g per 100g i dont know that doesnt seem right to me FAR too low

harrumph sweet i have greater willpower than that u know!! U will all miss me when i go on holiday and dont post (ok no u prob wont lol)

mazzers u do know that having caved u have put yrself back another day dont u???.... i am being gentle cos this u are new but ask the others i will start slapping if it happens again!!!!

oh and no pancakes for me nasty things!!!

  • Good morning all :hello:
First day of Lent & I've decided to give up ................................
    WINE!!!!!! _pale_
It was getting to be a bit too much of a habit, having a [STRIKE]bottle[/STRIKE] glass every couple of nights so I'm knocking it on the head. Hope I can do it, I will confess all if I fail.
Anyway, my menu for today is
B - blues/rasps & cream (can you believe it I'm actually getting a bit fed up of these now?!)
    L - egg mayo salad
D - chicken curry & broc/cauli (would love to have a naan or a pitta to go with it  )
It's a lovely bright morning here but have to wait in for a phone call/visit - would love to go for a long walk by the sea but it will have to wait for another day. I'll have to do some washing instead.
Shykins, I KNOW you have the power!! I'm only jealous because I KNOW I don't!! :rotfl:
daisy, that 4lbs must be water retention. I had a sneaky weigh this morning & I've gained so that's what I'm saying it is for me!!
    Have a lovely day everyone.
  • angel, you have been an 'angel' :A Well done!!
By the way I like the sound of your peppered steak, but maybe not the sprouts. Have you tried cheesy leeks?! :rotfl:

My simple cheesy leeks - only takes a few minutes
Saute chopped leeks in butter until softened (a gentle heat, you don't want them burnt)
Add double cream (quantity really does depend on how runny you want it but I just pour some in 'by eye' & heat through
Grate cheese in - any cheeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssseeeeeee will dooooooooooooooooooooooo!! (Think Joseph song!!)
Stir & season with black pepper
    That's it!!
It should be a bit gooey, a bit on the thick side - that's how I like it anyway.
    Hope that makes sense!!:rotfl:
