Another question for everyone, what do you use for bad breath:o
    TIA

Will agree that more water helps, personally I keep a little 'gold spot' spray in my pocket for use as required :)

You DO have control over how you react :)

You know my views on exercise shykins, and like you, I will NEVER enjoy it:rolleyes: but I will attempt to do it 3 times a week too:o so I can get those last few pounds off!!!!

I am drinking plenty of water but its usually when I am in work that I am more consious of it as its not quite so easy for me to drink loadsand to get back and forth to the toilet:o

    Mercy, what is 'gold spot'?
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

Wow, as others have said - miss a day or two and you have hundreds of posts to read through!

newish, could you whizz the tinned tomatoes in a blender so that your little ones can't see the nasty bits? Cheaper and lower-carb!

Stacey, glad you liked the mushroom soup. My whole family is addicted to it now! I don't honestly think the sherry is important - you probably wouldn't taste the difference. I put it in because I always have a bottle to hand as I often use it in cooking. (A likely story :D.)

Mercy, good for you, and don't let the !!!!!!!s get you down, hon.

Welcome to the newbies - Jim, if you fall off, just climb straight back on! I do, regularly. Hence my slow loss these days though.

angela, you are a complete saint! How I wish I had your will power!

nzmegs, Tink is right about muscle weighing more than fat, but I can't see that this could have made a difference in two weeks (unless you're weight-training 8 hours a day!). Just hang on in there. The more I hear about Atkins bars the less tempted I am to try the horrid things. Maybe try to give them up and go with 'clean food'? I reckon Mercy has it absolutely right when she talks about Dr A not having this sort of thing in mind.

Badger, you poor thing. I hope you feel better in the next day or two.

Have started the rounds of uni open days with DD/Twin 2 - Reading today. Same old, same old. They all merge into one in the end. If one more academic tells us about their fabulous library I'm going to scream.

Today (can't remember yesterday, seems so long ago):

    B: none
    L: leftover LC shepherd's pie
    D: goulash, broccoli
    S: chunk of cheese

    It's spray breath freshener.
  • And the strawberries if you're doing atkins.

    Sorry :(

I think I need to take a list of allowable foods everywhere I go!:o

Tonight I had a sliced boiled leek with cheese/cremefraiche sauce and a couple of slices of bacon. I looked away from the chocolate fountain, marshmallows and fudge!
Now if that had been a month ago(thats what got me in a mess-temptation)

Anyway-not perfect but getting there and 35lb to go.

Well done worriedjim for getting this far. I "had to be in the correct frame of mind" to start this again-goodness knows why now I think about it-having done it before I should know better but if you don't get your head around it and really make it priority it won't work. I ask myself this now when I am tempted-what is is more important to you(as if someone else was asking me)is it the cakes/breads/whatever or you weightloss and your longterm health?
Ive had to ask this many times this week and although Ive had a few "little things" I shouldn't have I know they are not too major but I also know Id be better off without them.
Being able to read such reports as shykins bmi is truly inspiring. Mine is 30 at present and its annoying because when I was younger I was one of those people who couldnt put on weight-my problem was being truly underweight.
So there is a thin person in a body which I have come to be rather disgusted with-well-its not my bodys fault-that works fine but it is my fault.
Reading the Atkins book did help me understand the thyroid thing a bit better tho and it was as a result of tests and having been put on thyroxin that I can now get my head around it all and really go for it.
Im not blaming medical problems on weight gain though-I am blaming my own lack of dedication as I should never have "come off " Atkins last time! As the good book says-it is a lifelong change in a way of eating-not a diet to start and stop.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

As far as I know, there's no fruit on the list ;)

Tink is right - no fruit on induction. It's possibly confusing on here, because we're on different plans and at different stages.

If you're on Atkins/IPD induction, stick to meat, sensible amounts of dairy, green salad and green, leafy veg and you won't go wrong. You can relax a bit after a fortnight and add other veg (not carrots or sweetcorn, obviously) and berries after a while.

For the first 6 weeks I counted carbs religiously until I got into the swing of it, making sure almost all my carbs were from salad and veg.

If it's confusing, perhaps previous advice (that I have possibly pooh-poohed ) about reading one plan thoroughly, and sticking religiously to it, is worth heeding.

It's a tasty tiny aerosol of mega fresh mouthwise! 2 squirts and no-one would know you lowcarb / smoke / eat **** whatever. Is a comfort when talking closely to a minion :D Probably good for talking closely to humans as well :)

£1r2 in asda last time I got some.

Tiny and works. Tastes like v strong mouthwash :)
