lol mercy not sure if i should be upset or pleased at the nagging comment!!....am having real issues with a so called friend at the moment and its getting to me .. u sometimes wonder whether its worth these people in yr life and i am having to put my foot down as i refuse to be walked over so i kinda can relate to what u are saying
hi jim good to meet u well done on yr initial loss, as long as u get straight back to it u should be losing again soon, as u have found going back to carbs has a detrimental effect... as stacey says let us know which plan u are following so we can give u the correct advice
stacey i would of thoght seeing good weight loss results would give u a lift and therefore help with depression... i am no expert but i cant see how it would make u feel worse
x
Only good stuff shykins :rotfl: know what you mean about if folk are worth it. At least you can walk away if necessary. On the other side, my colleagues don't know where I live
hi jim! welcome :j
Stacey check out some of Ted's posts about the effect of vitamin D on depression. He has some good links. I have felt much better since supplementing with vit D. It seems to be a good thing to do with lots of unexpected benefits.
TTFN!

Hi All-thanks for your comments-Im takng them all on board! Well Ive been good-I dropped the girls off at the restaurant for a chinese buffet and I went shopping instead> For my lunch I had a pack of Kingprawns from M & S
2 slices of corned beef and a few strawberries-sat in a car park!
I will have the salad I bought tonight so once again-I resisted temptation!
I must next try to avoid the sweeteners inc the sugarfree jelly I agree-thanks-'I was going to buy some more. The only thing I have to say for it is that it has often saved me from much bigger temptations but I dont really want to slow down my weightloss due to that. I also need to ditch the coffee-Im getting there!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

It's funny though, because I now feel like I'm on a "diet" and sticking rigidly to the plan, I'm constantly thinking about food  Not necessarily hungry, just worrying about where my next bite is coming from... however, I'd also dropped 2lbs on the scales this morning (which could be normal variation...)
Glad it's working! :j
Can really empathise with the thinking about food all the time thing. Doing low carb this time is the first I've ever 'been on a diet' and I think I've been thinking about it too much. With about 7-10lbs to lose I know it will work eventually but the 'eat as much as you want within certain strictures' ethos really wasn't working for me.
I also have a self sabotaging bit which if I take anything very seriously means it has more to work with
I do truly believe that low carb is the way to go. Many health reasons and many personal physical reasons (less bloating, hunger, pointlessness) mean that this is the way I'll be forever.
Still, emphasis, used in the right way will yield results.

Thank you everyone ! I am doing Atkins plain and simple. a typical day is a small breakfast of eggs or cheese. lunchtime huge chicken salad which i find very filling and for tea meat with cauliflower, broccoli and green beans. I am over any cravings and dont feel the need to snack, if I fancy something to munch on I have a babybel cheese.
This is what i noted on another thread about a month ago when I started this -
I got big between 2000 and 2003. In 2004 over 8 months I lost 3 stone and went to a size 34" waist. Very happy with this.
Over the past few years the weight has crept back up to about 15 stone and a 40" weight. However, over the last 3 or 4 months I have been absolutely stuffing myself, I will hold my hands up and say it was 100% comfort eating as I felt so low and had very little self respect- I just couldn't care less everything was so bad may as well have another packet of crisps- and I mean multi pack.
Last week I had to buy some 44" trousers, now they are loose but I am disgusted with my self, but I am not going to wallow in self pity, I am going to loose it. As of this morning I weighed 15.5 stones (217lbs), this equates to a bmi of 32.8 which according to the NHS places me in the obese category and has some pretty serious health consequences.
Now I know I can do it as I have done it before all on my own and I have been trying previously. I have even been to weight watchers but I felt very uncomfortable being the only man and I couldn't keep a straight face after seeing Little Britain, I can see completely were Matt Lucas got the inspiration for Marjorie Dawes from.0
