Ill squeeze this in here too, i ate a bar of whole nut choc on sat night

S'not the end of the world, just pick urself up, dust youself off (wipe your mouth) and continue like it never happend. :D

Ive had a couple of undiluted voddies. Getting over work trauma. Had to make a polite request of my workers (several times politely requested - ignored) into a training opportunity. This involved the guys (both older but with less experience) having to sign and date a Training Form.

We are normally quite easy-going but I couldn't let ignorance continue! Left me feeling uncomfortable. I had tried to get the system in place by being insistant that 'This must be so' and had been assured that it would be (nodding of heads - disengaging of brain too, apparently :)) Well at least they now know where they stand re me 'asking nicely' :)

Still dunt feel nice having to do that.

    Heyho. Onwards and upwards!

  • Hi can i have any red wine on a low carb diet ?
  • Hi can i have any red wine on a low carb diet ?

if you're trying to lose weight, then not really :(

coloured drinks are far higher in carbs than clear ones, and alcohol (a kind of sugar) can throw your loss all off

I do now, but it isn't very helpful if you are trying to lose weight so it's best to go easy but the odd glass isn't going to do too much damage. Drink only small amounts of alcohol, it will increase weight and it does disturb sugar balance.

Beer contains maltose which is a very fast carbohydrate and must be totally excluded while trying to lose weight and even on maintenance I have to Intermittent fast the next day if I've been to to the pub.

Interesting to see the MIRROR hosting low carbohydrate Baked Salmon meal in their fitness, nutrition blogs

Hi can i have any red wine on a low carb diet ?

It's possible. Check out google 'carbs in alcohol'

Worth knowing that the liver will deal with any alcohol first.

Then comes refined carbs, and probably carbs of any nature. (sugar first. It seems the body considers most things ending in 'ose' as toxins, to be cleared, (and if not worked off, laid down as fat) asap:)

    THEN fat.

Tailor your drinking to how much you want to lose weight.

I mostly don't drink in the week - today has been a bummer so I've indulged :D

Do the google thing anyway. It's amazing what you learn. We tend to recommend clear alcohol.

Whatever low carb version you're doing it's probably best to limit alcohol as much as poss for above reasons.

Give more details and our great band of lovely folk will advise as they just can't help being helpful!

    Big love and night night

  • Thanks for the sympathy alm:)

Cottage pie - mince, leek, mushrooms etc and a jar of Tesco Value Pasta sauce.... The whole jar is only about 7.5 carbs (and only costs 30ish p) and I make enough to feed 5 of us:cool:

I have a few recipes for curry (off pig2twig site) but if I'm in a hurry, I use 1/2 a jar of Tesco Finest Thai Green Curry (about £1.60 ish) and is lush:D

Re the pasta sauce-are you sure about this? Not per serving or per 100g? Not saying you are wrong but it sounds too good to be true.

    http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-tesco-pasta-sauce-i75929

If this is the same its per serving not per jar.

If it is then its something I will def consider for the future!

Well I kept to the list today and had:
scrambled egg with cheese and salad-mayo with curry powder added
    sugarfree jelly and cream
grilled pork steak with chilli and ginger with salad, creme fraiche and may
    jelly and cream
a snack of roast beef and cheese.

Ive been on Atkins one week now and at the end of that week after a few fluctuations Ive lost 5 pounds. I realise that I wont lose that next week though.
    Start weight 12 stone 8
    Todays weight 12 stone 3
    Height 5 ft 4

I want to one day get down to 9 stone 10 as that was the weight where I felt tiptop!

I can see the muffintop flattening and that feels good.
Tomorrow Ive got to take the kids out-either Bella Italia or Harvester. I may or may not eat depending on the menu but it wil be a testing time!!!
Family wanted chips from chipper tonight but I didnt even have a taste of one!
Instead-I tried on my brand new size 12 trousers which I bought about 2 years ago which just squeezed on-I knew it was ridiculous but I will try them on every week until the fit!
I sorted out 6 pairs of trousers which are too small-3 are brand new. They are now on 3 hangers ready for wear in order of which ones will fit me first.

Re TOTM I can easily put on 5 lbs myself but it comes of towards the end-during the following week.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults

Scrambled egg with cheese for lunch ~ good show

4 whoemeal crackers with cheese ~ I was hungry

6 spare ribs in sticky sauce, no rice ~ okay, delicious actually

3 very bad crumpets for supper, must not read novels that involve lots of dinners.

Checking in tomorrow for an update, but then again, may be too ashamed, as it's 2 yr old's Bday, and a trip to McD's is in order, I will try.....
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
