something odd going on here - your wonderful recipie post is #3224 on page 81 for me, I knew it couldn't be page 162 as I only have 102!

I think the paging is down to my screen but has the post number moved or is my computer just operating in some different universe?

Tink will have it right (I presume, though the explanation whistled gently as it passed over my head :D) I'm going to re-post it when I can get it more up to date. I'll make sure all recipes have an addy rather than just a post # so they're reachable however our comps are set.

ps, glad you like it :)

What is flax and where do I get it from please?

Flax is flaxseed or linseed, ground to a powder. Got mine from Sainsbury's, in a miserable little packet at great expense. I'm sure Saz knows a much better source.

Tink is right, it depends how many pages you see per page. Not sure what it the default. I don't think I've reset mine, but perhaps it depends on your browser.

I wonder if it's possible to make the recipe post a sticky at the top of the thread? Probably not, as it's a thread and not a board. We need our own board!

That's EXACTLY what I found  Wasn't any problem staying away from rice as I find it makes me feel awful (slow, knakred, rough) the day after. Not had it myself for getting on 12 months now and do not miss it one bit :D

Talking about instant breads has inspired me to try them this morning, especially as I have soup for my lunch today and I wanted something to go with it.

I made Shykins's recipe, and used half almond flour and half flax. I don't think I added enough cream, as the 'loaf' came out very very crumbly when it was cooked. But the taste and texture reminded me of flapjacks. So I had another go, adding a little water to the mix this time - and a teaspoon of Splenda. Got DD to blind-taste it and she asked me if it was a flapjack! Then I ate the rest, warm, with cream. Delicious! I don't think I'd use it as a bread substitute but sweetened, for pudding - yum!

Next I had a go at Saz's flax bread. Nice texture, and looked just like a mini-loaf! Was quite nice spread with butter, and would definitely be good with soup.

Could you give me a link to that flax bread please im making mushroom soup for tomo and id would be great thanks. Also is that flax bread made with whole seeds or ground and another question(sorry) were would i get it im in N Ireland

Home made low carb curry Mercy fashion – an example.

Listed as Ingredients,Amount in grams,Total Carbs

    1 Onion finely chopped - 110g - 4g carb
    Garlic puree - 2 teaspoons
    Pataks Madras curry paste - 70g - 6.6g carb
    Chillis - 25g
    Fresh Ginger- 15g
    2-3 Leeks finely chopped - 200g - 5.2g carb
    Coconut oil - 50g
    Boiling water - enough
Slowly cook down to mush about 20-30 mins. Gives you time to prepare the rest J
    Turkey thigh - 600g
Stir until meat has changed colour and doesn’t show any raw looking patches. Takes about 10 mins
    3 Celery sticks - 210g - 1.9g carb
    Green Beans, 1 inch long - 80g - 2.6g carb
    1 large Turnip, diced - 160g - 7.4g carb
    Simmer 10-15 mins
    Cauli - 240g - 6.7g carb
Cook hot / slow boil for around 20 mins. Tis finished! I leave mine overnight in pan then pot off following evening into 5 containers for lunches.

Total carbs per panful - 34.4g

    Per lunch (5) - 6.9g

It’s worth bearing in mind that I don’t eat it with any rice or nan bread J I like it spicy but it’s not hot enough to need off setting with carbs as we usually use them. The amount of veg involved lets me get a couple of portions in every day and keeps it interesting.

I’ve not counted chillis, garlic or ginger – life’s too short!

All is interchangeable and the meat / low carb veg change weekly, depends what is cheap – very MS.

Is made in a 3Litre pan.

Just wanted to show that low carb curry is truly possible.

Be amazed just how nice turnip is curried – I was!
