Hi Newish, sorry to hear that you haven't lost anything. On my first 10 days on the Atkins Induction I only lost a 1lb. I followed it strictly too. I think that when you don't have a lot to lose (I've ony got 6lbs to lose) its much harder and a lot slower. How do you do your cottage pie? What do you use as the sauce in the meat?

Does anyone have a chicken curry recipe that is suitable on Atkins Induction please?

hc i have no doubt u will make any goal u set yourself hun :)

I'm glad you asked that, I was just thinking about chicken curry this morning!! I used to use Pataks paste but haven't had a 'proper' curry since starting low-carb. Hopefully someone will share their recipe as I quite often see HM curry on the menus.:D Please.

  • Good morning everyone :hello:
Yippee, daughter home last night!! Sooooo good to see her & give her a hug!!:D
Just a quick post today as I now have loads of washing to do!!
    Menu will be
    B - blues/rasps & cream
L - egg mayo & HM coleslaw (need to get myself some salad)
D - roast beef dinner (as requested by hungry-nose daughter :rotfl: )
Have also got to contend with the Thorntons Birthday cake (with fudgy things on top) - to pig or not to pig, that is the question?!):rotfl:
    Have a good day everyone.

    Curry sauce
In a large pan, gently fry half a finely chopped onion in butter for 5 minutes. Add 3-4 finely chopped mushrooms & stir for 2 more minutes.

Add 2 heaped tsp of mild or medium curry powder & stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add about 3-4 tbs water, 1-2 tsp tomato puree, 2 crushed cloves of garlic & salt & pepper to taste. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently & adding a little more water if necessary.

For Korma: add a sachet of creamed coconut & some chopped coriander leaves & half a tub of soft cheese! Stir untill well blended & thickened.

Add meat. veg etc as required

Well done on the losses, ladies! Mercy, you must have had a will of iron to eat low-carbish at the Chinese. I avoid it altogether. :(

    Hello lovelies :hello:

I was gonna suggest sommat along those lines, shykins. Spices and a tin of coconut milk and/or creamed coconut.

I did a nice chicken stew last night. Chicken thighs, leeks, celery, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, herbs, stock, and finished with a little double cream. Not bad even though i say so myself lol:D

Feeling a bit rubbish today:rolleyes: Needless to say weight still not shifiting... going up if anything:rolleyes: But then again i've not been all that strict so can't complain really. Bit fed up with work.. but then again who isn't lol. Well done to those who have lost and sympathies with those who haven't.

Tried shykins tip of making my usual instant bread with half flax meal and half almond flour (instead of all flax meal) and although it's early days, I think I might prefer it, it has a less pronounced flax taste; milder. Or at least will be nice as a change from time to time.

    b - flax bread, sausage
l - salad with ham, and maybe also tuna depending on how hungry I feel
d - not sure yet, going to be home fairly late so may just have a pick at some cold meat, cheese etc.

Have a good day everyone

    Sazzy xxxxxxx

Is flax bread Induction friendly? How many carbs would you count per slice? I'm tempted to try it.
