Hi all and welcome to the newbies :D

Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day, me and T'other half normally just buy cards but this year he bught me a card and a surprise pressie...a DeLonghi coffee grinder for my flax seeds :T :T .

Bless him, he know's I've been wanting to get one and haven't seen it in stock anywhere. He said it was to show he supports me in whatever I do, even if it is a wierd diet :rotfl:

For those that use Agarve Syrup (I don't), just seen this on PTS site.
Tesco selling agave nectar syrup (the dark one) in the old bottle half price £1.47 as they are changing the shape of the bottles. Not sure if it's all stores but worth checking if you use it.

    Today:
Brunch - fry-up of egg, bacon and tinned toms
Dinner - cauli pizza with salad and coleslaw
Snacks - peanuts and a rum and diet coke

Going for a chinese buffet tomorrow. Hopefully that means I can try and pick non-carby options (altho the hidden sugar is harder to spot  )

    Night all!

Aw bless. :) I'm gonna get thin then I'm gonna get me one of them! (A supportive OH I mean, not a coffee grinder :rotfl: )

avstar, what a sweetie your OH is! :) Enjoy your dinner this evening - we love the Sunday-night Chinese buffet but I've not had one since I started low-carbing. My OH is diabetic now, so he has to avoid it too. We both miss it. :( What did you think of the cauli pizza? I've not tried it, but am tempted.

aliasojo, you might want to rethink. Coffee grinders never leave socks on the floor or wake up in a grumpy mood.

I was all alone last night and so was a bit naughty:o:

    B: corned beef
    L: blue cheesy leeks
D: butter chicken from the Indian, 4 poppadoms, sweet mint yoghurt and salad. I also tried the IPD onion bhajis but they were a bit bleugh. I might have another go, as I think it might have been me. ;)

I checked with Ketostix last night before bed, and again this morning, and it's still pink. Still, we'll see what the scales say at tomorrow's weigh-in.

Looks like another nice day here. I'm sure I smelled a teensy whiff of spring in the air yesterday afternoon. It won't be long!

    :rotfl: How true.

I already have one that does that though...I want a better one.

lol tho have to say i am the one who wakes up grumpy not my DH..... he is VERY supportive on my WOE which makes it a lot easier

HC am interested in how u cooked yr blue leeks (lol that sounds bad).... sound u didnt too bad if the worst u had was poppodums

i like the chinese buffet as outs has lots of veg and meat but as u say u dont REALLY know whats in stuff and iwould and have avoided it while i am still trying to lose

had a bit of a nutfest last night just fancied some and whilst legal i know they will stall me... oh and some dark choc crept in too :o

Shy, the blue cheesy leeks are a recipe from the IPD cookbook. I make them a lot, as they're totally yummy. They're also nice and wet, so act as a sauce with meat.

You don't need the recipe, as such. Just saute sliced leeks in a bit of butter (I add water too, then you don't need so much butter). Slosh in some double cream, add any old blue cheese to taste. Heat gently till the cheese melts. Season. Could do them without the blue cheese if that flavour clashes with something else on your plate, or use different cheese - Cheddar, Parmesan, etc.

I keep blue cheese in the freezer and just hack off a lump when I need it.
  • Good morning all :hello:
Happy 12th Birthday to my lovely daughter today!! :kisses3: :heart2: Missing her loads but she sent me a photo message this morning so I got to 'see' her on her Birthday.:D
Feeling much better today, thanks Shykins, just got the remains of a red nose!!:rotfl:
The M&S valentines meal was yum, especially because I didn't have to cook it!! Was soooooooo tempted to get a chocolate pudding to go with it but asked hubbie to get the strawberries :A. I usually get some Thorntons chocolates for valentines but this year hubbie got me Little Dorrit DVD so I'm really pleased with that.:D
    Anyway, menu for today
    B - strawbs/blues & cream
L - maybe M&S antipasti with HM coleslaw?
    D - maybe chicken & cheesy leeks?
Definitely not HM soup today, put too much water in it so it tastes like dishwater this time!! _pale_
    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
