Angel,
I make a cheese sauce by adding grated cheese to warm creme fraiche. You could also add fresh parsley or could use pesto which is quite yummy.Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0 -
thanks tink was just about to say that lol
induction is as much about WHAT u eat as it is about keeping to 20g... like tink i often eat around 20g a day but i am not on induction as i eat things not on the list
ok sauces...
cheese sauce melt cheese into heated double cream
coronation sauce mix mayo with curry powder
tomato type sauce mix tom puree and spices into mayo or warm d/cream
add puree and/or herbs and some cream to anything u are frying
to thicken stews add extra veg then take some out and whizz it before adding back, makes for a thick gravy
is that ok for a start?

I often use balsamic vinegar on salads but as I'm not strictly doing Atkins I'm not sure whether it is allowed.Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0

Thanks shykins and angelatgraceland:)
You told me wat I knew really:rolleyes:
We're going for a chinese so I was going to avoid the rice and noodles but was thinking more of the 'hidden sugars' mentioned before:)
With regards to me eating 20g a day, I'm trying to keep it low as I'm desperately trying to lose my last 4lb (the same 4lb since Christmas:rolleyes: ) but as Tinkerbell said, I'm not being as strict as induction;)If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins0 -

Ah those ideas will keep me going for a while! Thankyou! Recipes in American books never work for me! Ive not tried creme fraiche recently so I will take a look at that later today when I pop out. Pesto I love but hadn't even considered-thats why I asked you on here-because you are "doing" it.
A few more bits for my shopping list now. Im hoping to do induction for 4 weeks so I do need to get inventive. I was previously eating a lot of beans and pulses so its a complete change of diet for me at present. However-having done it before-I know how great it is! Wishing you all big sucess!:j :TAnnual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Good morning everyone & welcome to newbies :hello:
Still feeling rough today, blocked dose & headache, I hate having a cold. Having a lazy day today, still in my PJs & thinking of going back to bed for an hour & then having a hot bath.
Anyway, menu for today
B - strawbs/blues & cream
L - HM veg soup with blob of creme fraiche
D - M&S valentine meal - sirloin steak & med veg I think - hubbie making
I agree with the cheesy sauce - I saute some leeks in butter, then add cream & grated cheese & season with black pepper. It's lovely with steak or chicken etc. Could also put it over cauli/broc etc.0 -
