alm course u can do atkins even with only a little to lose, if your hub is doing it it should be so much easier for u and u can always work your way up to maintenance when he is ready to

let us know how its going

Thanks Shykins. I'll post my progress. It's my daughter's birthday today and she's decided to go out for an Indian tonight. What would be the best menu choices for my OH who is on the Induction phase of the Atkins? I know he shouldn't have Indian but I was thinking in terms of damage limitation just for tonight.

  • Hi Alm, I could do with losing the same amount as you and am actually tempted by Atkins (am slowly making my way thru them all here!) It's helpful that your OH is doing it also, mine just eats toast and rice in front of my face, but I've managed to reduce the amount he eats and when I cook he doesn't get any!:rotfl:
So I'll have a butchers at the Atkins book when next in town, even if you just do maintenance it'd be effective I think? It's my birthday in a month's time and that coould be my incentive for pulling my finger out!:D

Saz- Samar said "Thankyou, he had a good b'day!" Therefore, I will not be posting my menu for yesterday.......least said the better!

Just had Paleo Porridge, which is dessicated coconut based. Weird! Had almond porridge yesterday, tasted like sloppy scrambled eggs (you add 2 eggs), the flax porridge is still in the lead!!:T

    Hope you're all well, have a good'un x

  • Good aftie everyone :hello:
Well, had the meal out & daughter's sleepover last night & I survived both!! Had a mexican chicken dish in a tomatoey sauce with peppers & onions. Came served with small amount of salad, which I ate, and some rice, which I didn't eat. Also, managed to resist the choc bday cake!! Oh I am such a saint!!:A OK, maybe not such a saint as I did have a margharita cocktail which was very nice!! And 3 glasses of red wine but that was to help me sleep!!:rotfl:
    Menu for today:
    B - blues/rasps & cream
    L - 4 cumberland chipolata sausages
D - cheeseburger (without the bun) & cheesy leeks & mushrooms
Supper - S&V peanuts & cheese cubes if peckish
might have to finish that bottle of wine off too!!

i ventured out and bought some s&v peanuts last night- oh my god they are to die for and hereafter i am holding you ladies responsible for stuffing my face with them!

might have to get the oh to confiscate these, to his credit hes quite good at keeping me on the straight and narrow- managed to sit through him eating a mcdonalds last night and bizzarly it tasted like marmite???!!!! when it was chicken?

have a good day everyone x

How do? Just a random post cos I'm prob missin something..............

I find it a bit odd why some people press the "Thanks" button after all or just certain posts when a: They never actually come on here and post themselves (who are these mystery persons lurking in the background ? ) and b: people say thanks when it doesn't actually make sense to say thanks to that post? Has anyone else noticed this?

Not naming names cos the person may be one of Martin's little peeps, skulking, and I'll blow their cover. :T
I just say Thanks when it's relevant, but there may be some etiquette on here I don't know about.

Right, off to get ready........... (you don't have to thank me for this post.:rotfl: ) Have a good evening x
    I thank everyone because I love you all:j :j

Nah..... not really, I'm just a bit dense so if I thank everyone I know how far I've read. I did start by just thanking the last post I read (regardless of whether it was good post or not to use as a marker:rolleyes:) but I felt a bit mean to everyone else.:D

Well, I've not long got up as was working nights again last night:mad: . I hate Saturday nights as it messes the entire weekend up for the kiddies:(. I also find it messes up my eating. I try to use 12mn as the end of one day and the start of the next but it doesn't quite work that way:rolleyes: . I didn't go to bed yesterday so had my usual...

    B- scrambled egg and mushrooms
L- coronation chicken, bacon and cabbage leaves
S- chicken curry and cauliflower rice

23.00hrs - chicken curry and rice (I split my meal at tea time as didn't want to be too full to go to work)

02.00hrs - more coronation chicken and cabbage leaves

04.00hrs - more coronation chicken (no cabbage leaves as I'd eaten them all then:rolleyes: ... always starving between 2 and 4 in the morning... need to stay awake:D )

    08.30 went to bed:D :D

12.30 (not long ago) scrambled egg and mushrooms.
Will be doing a beef dinner for tea;)

Wow, this is a long post for me, sorry to bore you but writing it all out to check in my own mind what I've actually eaten:eek:

How many carbs are in the S&V peanuts? These seem to be rather popular:D
However, before I rush out and buy them, are these bad for me like the atkins bars:eek:
