stacey...before you started Atkins, did you eat a LOT of junk stuff and high carb stuff...crips biscuits choc etc?
not so much fizzy drinks but fruit juice and i liked to bake which meant eating lots of cakes yes and crisps also.:oAtkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -
yes stacey u need to start again and stick to it to the letter this time....the first few days is the worse, once u get past the first week u will be fine and the cravings should go
the problem with carbs is they dont really fill u up, u think they do and then u feel hungry again so u want more and u get in a vicious cycle... if u are hungry grab some cheese
xWhen you know better you do better0 -
I suspect your blood sugars are just usually so artificially high that you are kinda going 'cold turkey' a bit now which is why you feel so tired and washed out. Some people adapt quicker than others, induction is 14 days long because that can be how long it takes to stabilise sometimes.Herman - MP for all!0

Soz, had to laugh at that post initially, didn't realise low-carbing could bring such diverse withdrawals!:D Am just wondering about your constant thirst tho.....if you're drinking plenty and not having excess salt or sweating, this sounds unusual. Is your urine the normal colour, pale yellow? I'm a nurse, not a weirdo, could talk body fluids all day?:rotfl:
im prone to kidney infections and am well schooled in looking out for infection or should i say it looks out for me ahhhhhh. My eyes are ok now i just look wasted you'd think i hadn't slept in weeks but im just really tired and sleeping more than usual. If it shows me something i dont want to get back into this carb addiction as it is like drinking salt water the more you drink the more it will make you thirsty.
Did you like my side effects hypcondriact or what :rotfl:Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -

14 days again oh no
cheese i will do that next craving cause i read that in the book fat stops hunger too. Will maybe get the L glutamine and would you recommend the cocount oil on induction. Thanks again for all the helpAtkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -
Stacey, you've done brilliantly already. An 8lb loss is fantastic - more than half a stone. You're absolutely right to just climb back on when you fall off - don't dwell on your naughtiness and let it go on to the next meal*.
And what shykins doesn't know about Atkins isn't worth knowing. Thank goodness she's here!
aliasojo, the advantage of not having a large choice of supermarkets is that you probably live in the middle of the beautiful countryside. I know which I'd choose!
* Says she who recently confessed to an all-day pizza binge, an evening toast binge, and is at this moment sipping a G&T (slimline tonic, of course!).
thanks so much i have only about 7 lb to my goal as well and then i was going to maintain im not going to be to as thin as the last time i diet'd i ended up to scrawny looking which annoyed the hubby just wanted to fit into my clothes and shed about a stone.
Did your bindge tip you over the edge on the scales my weigh day is tomo and my 14 days induction was supposed to be over on tue. The thing is everbody is on this diet from i started my hubby and mother and father in law and im such a bad ambasssador for it todayAtkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0 -

sorry just for quoting again just remembered that i have always sweated a lot and i was told by a friend who is doctor that i have a high motabalism. This brings me to another thought - in the atkins book if you have a lot of tiredness then the diet is being accelerated quite quick and he reccommends increasing carbs this could be why if im wrong SHY if your reading could maybe confirm this. I no not to the amount i have.
The other thing i thought was (whilst bindging) is that its good to give your body a kick start and have one day off from your diet each week. what you think about that??? Thanks for all your comments there all very useful.Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go0
